Engine 5- "Firecats"

Engine 5, one of 24 Engine companies in Lexington, is a 2005 Pierce. It has a 1250 GPM pump, holds 750 gallons of water, houses two 150' crosslays of 1 3/4" hose, two 250' rear pre-connects of 1 3/4" hose, one 250' rear pre-connect of 2 1/2", and 1000' of 5" diameter hose. Along with carrying suppresion appliances, E-5 also carries tools for car accidents, high-rise packs, ladders, and EMS equipment. E-5 was placed in service in 2005 . Ladder 2- "Biggest Stick on Campus"
Ladder 2, one of 7 Ladder companies in Lexington, is a 2005 Pierce Dash 95' Mid- Mount Tower. L-2 has a 2000 GPM pump and holds 200 gallons of water. It holds two crosslays consisting of 150' of 1 3/4" hose, 100' of LDH in the front, additional 30' of LDH in the side, and has two 2000 GPM fog nozzle master streams on the bucket. L-2 carries Halmatro extrication tools, power saws, PPV fans, salvage and overhaul equipment, ropes (rescue and throw), portable lighting, multiple tools for forcible entry, pulling ceilings, searching, etc., a variety of cribbing and EMS equipment. L-2 was placed in service in November of 2006.
