The Valkyrie Profile series is based around Norse Mythology, in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria you play as the main character Alicia, the princess of Dipan whom has being forced to live far from the castle in exile by decree of her father King Barbarossa. On top of this Alicia shares her body with the soul of Valkyrie Silmeria which makes Alicia appear as she is going mad as she often appears to be talking to herself. Silmeria however is hiding from her master Odin as she refuses to return to
The battles are now in a large area of action combat, a little similar to FFXII where you can move in live environment, dash towards your enemies, split up your party and even break apart your enemies one by one.
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria features similar gameplay to Lenneth in that movement between towns/dungeons etc takes place on a 2D platform where usage of Magic Crystals and Jumping is the key to moving forward. Although now the period & time feature is gone, and new elements such as powerful Seal stones lie in wait to give you benefits in battle if manipulated to your advantage.
Much has changed from Lenneth while the game still holds many unique traits to stand apart from most other RPGs.
Can Alicia save her homeland from the wrath of the gods?
Will Silmeria's assistance be more of a hindrance or assistance to the party as the gods are also trying to return her home?
All this and more like in wake of this epic adventure!
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria - Characters
Alicia/Silmeria
She like Lenneth is the respective main character in Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria, she is the youngest of the three Valkyrie sisters. However her soul lays within the body of Alicia, the young exiled princess of Dipan. You play as Alicia as the main character throughout the majority of the game.
Main support cast
Rufus, Dylan & Lezard are the three characters that will support you the most in the early stages of your journey. Rufus is an archer with an unbelievable fate. Dylan is a most loyal servant of Dipan of the years passed. And Lezard is the same arcane mage witnessed in Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. These three personalities will have much to do with shaping the future of Silmeria's and Alicia's success.
