Pokemon R/S walkthough

Okay, this is not one of those super-duper guides that you buy from the store. This information is the kind I get from playing.

After you set all the information (name, rival, gender. There's not really much difference in gameplay on wether you choose boy or girl) you are in a moving truck. After you get led to your room, there are a few things that need to be set straight.

Littleroot Town

Items:  Pokeballs (5), Running shoes, potion

Pokemon: None

First, go to that PC and go to item storage. Withdraw the potion (it restores 20hp). Now, you can't leave the room without setting the clock, so press A next to the clock on the wall. The time DOES matter. Especially for Eevee to evolve into Espeon or Umbreon (who evolve depending on the time of day). Afterward, your mom leads you back downstairs to see your dad on TV. Now exit the house.

On your first time, you can't leave Littleroot; a boy will stop you. Go to your rival's house first. After talking to him/her, you can head to route  101.

Route 101:

Items: None

Pokemon: Torchic/Mudkip/Treeko, Wurmple, Poochyena, Zigzagoon

The first time you come across this route, Prof. Birch is attacked by a wild Lvl. 2 Poocheyna. Quick! Grab a Pokebal from his bag and begin battling! This will determine your first pokemon, so choose wisely. My personal favorite is Mudkip because it evolves into the ever so cute Marshstomp! But also because it is the best pokemon for tough pokemon contests. It will make the first, third, and fourth gym leader a total breeze. But this pokemon is only for people with lots of paitence. When it learns mud shot, it deals heavy damage to almost any type. Torchic is a more of a beatdown pokemon,

boasting powerful attacks later in the game. Treeko can use frustrating attacks to the opponent. Either way, it's your choice!

The Poochyena will go down easily. You can always use the potion if needed, althought it's highly doubtful. Afterward, you will be lead to the lab and given the Pokemon used. You can give it a nickname as well. Birch will ask you to meet your rival on route 103. Now head out!

He/She will challenge you to a battle when you meet so take advantage of the wild pokemon and battle them to gain experience points.
