Well I must say that if this happens to be the last race for us this season I’m over the moon that it ended on such a high! What a fantastic night to showcase speedway in this country. It was a high standard of racing over all classes, and fans and competitors alike all thoroughly enjoyed one of the premier events to be held in this country.
On a personal note my night went better than planned. With drivers told to put on a show I had envisioned a damaged car for us at some point in the night but did not work out that way. The 1st race from 8th on the grid when well and after narrow misses I brought an unscathed car home in 3rd place which was a great result and my best in my 1st season of stockcars to date. The 2nd race I ran from 16th in the 16 car field and hung back off the start to avoid early carnage and the plan worked and I found myself in a strong position. A block car intended to impend my progress late in the race but after some smart driving I ended up spinning him to the infield and carrying on to finish a respectable 5th.
A 2nd grid position awaited me in the last race but while on the dummy grid we had our race canned due to time constraints which was disappointing but left me to pick up a well deserved 3rd overall in the Valvoline Celebrity Classic for the stockcars. This was a huge result for us and topped off, in great style what has been a tough 1st season in this class for us.
I would just like to give a huge thank you to all the fans and supporters we have had this season. Also thanks to my Dad and Mum who have been huge contributors and without them this couldn’t have been possible, to my girlfriend who has been great and given me support throughout the season, anyone that has helped out with my car this season and all my great sponsors, I hope I have made you all proud. Thank you. It was a night that I'll never forget, and all that were there will not forget easily.

Tiger is coming!!! The worlds best golfer is about to hit the dirt at Huntly Placemakers speedway this Monday, and I'll be there to pedal my stockcar, with new double wing and sign writing to boot! Hopefully it will be grouse enough to catch the eye of a few fans that will be watching the televised event and maybe even Tiger himself. All race fans, and the new race fans that there are bound to be due to the huge hype, should head down to Huntly for a fantastic nights racing with top quality fields and a top quality golfer to top it all off. Should be one hell of a night I'll see you all there.

Well the car is almost up and running. I know it’s been along time coming but it better late than never and I must say it has come at a good time, with the Steve Williams Charity event to be held at Huntly Speedway on the 24/03. We have been invited to take part n will be running with celebrities such as Greg Murphy and Tana Umaga, which will be a blast! And I'm a true blue ford fan so watch out Murph! The car should have new sign writing and the double wing finally, so will look the part for the TV cameras that will be present at the meet. I'm excited and looking forward to seeing you there.

A club day was run on Saturday at Huntly Placemakers Speedway and a small field of 9 stockcars turned up. There were no points and it was 1st up best dressed for grid positions. The first race I started from the back and after a few good battles a 4th place finish was a good result. The second race I again started from the back, and tried to pick my way through the ensuing carnage, and was doing well and running in a strong 2nd, until I was caught in a tangle and popped a tire so pulled to the infield with a few laps remaining. The 3rd race I started in the unfamiliar position of having my nose to the wall, and after hooking reverse and getting a good getaway I was near the front. I made a pass for the lead and had it for half a lap, until by trying to avoid being taken out I put a wheel on the wet poll line and looped it round in front of the chasing pack. A hard hit to the front wheel put us out and made a mess of the front end and put an end to what was looking like a promising result. All I can say is I'll hope for better luck next time. A big thanks to everyone who helped get the car on the trailer, it was much appreciated. And we will try get the car running again as soon as possible.

Not one of our most successful meets at Huntly Placemakers Speedway this week. A wet track in the first heat and a grid spot of 2 but things didn’t go to plan. After being completive early on the handling of the car went away and I fell down the field to finish 11th. The 2nd heat started off well and I had worked my way up the field during the opening laps but a hit in turn 3 spun me backwards. And although I managed to run the culprit into the wall, the hit had knocked the timing in the engine out and I limped to the infield. An inspection in the pits found nothing, so we did not make it on to the grid in the 3rd heat which was disappointing but that’s racing. We will have a look at the problem this week and see if we can get her back to full strength.

The meeting due to be run last night at Huntly Speedway was cancelled due to rain, so the car never even left the garage. This does give us time to make modifications to the car over the Christmas break though. Things such as moving the dash, and finishing the double wing that will top the car next race meeting hopefully. And also just a general tidy up of the car to get it prepared for the meetings to come next year. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I'll see you at the track soon.

With the weather not looking good for the weekend it was good to get two action packed nights of racing at the North Island Stockcar Champs. An early start on Friday for Scruiteneering but the car went through fine, and after a very specific drivers briefing and a Grand Parade we were all set to carve it up on the track. A grid 13 spot put us in the thick of it from the start and after an evasive move to the infield to avoid a spinning car, I was driven into the wall hard and took a while to fire it back up which dropped me to the back. But I shook it off and ended up coming home 12th. The next race went well and a 7th place resulted which was pleasing. The final race I finished 8th from the back of the grid but was relegated 1 spot for supposedly cutting the pole line to pull of a pass but I was not happy with this decision as I clearly didn’t but did not argue. The result was I finished with a respectable 35 points for the night but meant I missed out on finishing top five by four points, but easily made the Grandslam.
Saturday nights racing started with a grid 3 spot, and after being taken to the infield from the start and getting caught up in a few tangles I came home 7th which put me in a strong position for the remaining races. But after a very strong start to the 2nd race which saw me running with the leaders it all came unstuck when the engine cut out, due to what was later diagnosed as a problem with the distributor. It was disappointing as I felt I had a real shot at a strong finish and a piece of silverware was a possibility, but it was not meant to be and I felt confident in what I had achieved in only my 3rd meeting in the stockcar. I hope to be out again next week and run as competitively as I did this weekend. See you there race fans.

Well didn't run the car last Saturday as the new axle did not arrive in time. The racing was awesome though, as I played the role of speedway fan for the night. But with the new axle ready now and the faulty distrubutor fixed, I should be back to playing the role of speedway driver this weekend. See you there.

Well after the highs of last meeting it was a bit of a contrast this week. The car did not preform as was expected and was due to water in the fuel lines we think. It also had a slight miss, so after a 9th in the first race my night was over early in the second when, with no points awarded on the night anyway, I thought it best to park it on the infield and not risk causing futher damage. I hope to have the problems fixed this week and be back out there next week with a quicker car. See you there.

Not much to report this week. Turned up to the track with car all set to get sideways at Huntly speedway, and didn’t even jump out of the tow wagon as it got called off, due to persistent rain, just as we arrived. The meeting will be run this weekend instead and I will be there to mix it up again. Hope to see you there.

What a rush! Had my first blast in the car at Huntly Placemakers Speedway on Saturday. Wasn't expecting to achieve much in my first outing in a new car to me with a new engine, but I was ecstatic with how the night went. Nerves on the grid in the first race were short lived as the green flag dropped. I just took it easy and pick my way through the huge 29 car field from the back of the grid and finished a very good 9th. The second race I pushed the car a bit more but after doing well in the initial stages of the race, I got to wide when attempting to pass cars on the outside due to a little jam in the steering, and lost a lot of positions when I got in the marbles. But a 16th was respectable. The last race was a 4-wide grid start and being stuck on the outside of the 2nd row I was starting to wonder what I had got myself into. But the start went well and when the red light came on half way through the race I found myself running 4th, just in behind the leading trio. Then with 1 lap remaining I was given a taste of real stockcar racing as i was drilled hard in to the wall by 14A, but managed to take the hit and continue on, with sparks flying off the left rear due to a rubbing wheel guard and managed to hold on to the 4th spot. An extremely good night for me and the car and now find myself full of confidence and ready to build on the great start made to the season. Will be racing again this weekend at the fireworks extravaganza and can't wait to get back out there and mix it up with the big boys again. Thanks to everyone who helped get the car on the track and everyone who helped on the night, especially my crew chief, and lets hope the season continues on in this fashion.

Well opening meeting has been and gone an unfortunately the car was not up in running. But with the engine now in, body due for paint today and the numbers ordered, it looks good for next meeting. Just a few more details have to be sorted and race time will finally get here after a long wait. And if all goes as it should, ill see you at the track next meeting.

The new season isn't far away and my car is coming along nicely. Got a new Ford EA engine and body with paint ready to be applied as soon as we can finalise a paint scheme. Will be aiming to make the first practise at Huntly if all goes well. Can't wait for it!

Short but not sweet. Things didn't go to well at Waharoa on Sunday 06/03. After the wheel-pack the car seemed fine but come halfway through the first race it got ugly. A loud bang while tearing down the front straight was not what I had planed on, and after further inspection in the pits, we fount the conrod and put a hole in the sump. But speedway can be like that on any given day and I guess that you have to take the good with the bad. On the possitive side of things, we can now sand and paint the bodywork and give the car a fresh-up ready for next season. It was a bummer not have had a bit more track time, but I fell confident that next season will be a good learning curve, and that I will at the very least be competive.

Well I had my first run in my new stockcar at Range View Speedway at Waharoa on Sunday 20/02 and I loved it, what a blast. With no other standardstocks to race, I had the oppertunity to run against a Minisprint and a TQ. I and no way of comparing the speed of the car with other stockcars which was a bummer but the track time was valuable. The car handled well after a few tweeks to stop the steering wheel jamming left slightly. All and all a good debut with things looking promissing for the future!
