Oppose these poorly thought out plans

Vote the proposals out at the Ballot Box. Click here to find out which candidates have said they will help to promote a fair debate and help to raise standards without changing tiers. All elected councillors will vote on the 1st June as to whether to ratify the Executive decision made on the 24th March.

They cannot be allowed to stand in the way of improvements that are certainly already happening.

Just look at what strong gifted leadership can achieve - for example Chale, Niton, Godshill, The Isle of Wight College - these are amongst the top educational establishments in the UK!

We must insist that the education system delivers good results using the perfectly workable system already in place.

We must set out an alternative strategy for the LEA to follow.

We must oppose any move to a 2-Tier system on the Island. The LEA says there is no choice - that is just not true!

We must convince them that the system "ain't broke" and the expense and disruption will not be worth it.

Transfers between the tiers work well. Ask the children - something the 4S consultants did not bother to do.

Schools that remain in the state system must not be allowed to operate in isolation. In particular ALL high schools must be encouraged to collaborate so that ALL children benefit from better A level course choices.
