Video Game Guitar Tabs

About This Site

Welcome to my site of video game guitar tabs!  I hope that you will be able to get something good from this site.  All these tabs are written with the intention to be played fingerstyle (basically, using one's fingers to pick as opposed to a plectrum) seeing as that's the way I play, so keep that in mind while browsing my tabs.  All the tabs here were arranged / transcribed by me (with the exception of JumpmanFR's tabs, which were done by him (der)).  If you have any questions, concerns, comments, or suggestions, or you want to know how to play a certain part of a song, or think that my tabs stink, or anything else, you can either sign the guestbook or contact me at stamen47@yahoo.com.  Welcome, and enjoy!

Update - 9/29/07

Hello everybody!  School is officially kicking my butt, so things are going to be a little slow for a bit (at least until I can discipline myself to maximize my time...but knowing myself, that probably won't happen).  The most exciting news is that I've become an affiliate with game music affiliates!  You can visit the website here:

www.vgsheets.com

I have my own forum section and amazing powers with lots of special red buttons.  So if you want to come by my section of the forum and say...whatever, feel free to do so.  The folks there are real nice, so don't be shy.  Just so you know, all the other affiliates are piano sheet oriented, so don't expect to see much other guitar music.  I'll add links to their websites later when I figure out a good format to do so.

In other news, I've been thinking a lot about this site, and I think I'm going to change the format so that I don't do updates, but just add the songs as I arrange them...but I'll need to think of a better format to do that, so don't expect anything new right away.

Also, in order to better keep my interest in arranging video game music, I've come up with a project that I think sounds like a lot of fun.  I'm going to focus on music from Chrono Trigger and make a bunch of tabs from it, then (depending on the circumstances), I might make a big, medley video with all the songs I've arranged and post it on youtube (although I might just end up making a bunch of separate videos with my crappy webcam...we'll see).  If you want more details or want to pitch in ideas, you can check out my section of the forum at vgsheets.com.  So without further ado, here's my first arrangement for my Chrono Trigger Guitar-Tab Project-Extravaganza! (I guess it's actually my fifth arrangement, since I've already arranged four other songs from Chrono Trigger...)

By the way, this doesn't exactly mean that I'm just going to be posting Chrono Trigger music for a good long time.  I might get around to arranging other stuff, seeing how do have a plethora of half finished arrangements that just lost steam.  We'll see.

I also made two new videos since last time:

Final Fantasy IX - Melodies of Life
Final Fantasy X - Silence Before the Storm

One last thing, I'm in a taiko drumming group (taiko = big Japanese drums), and I've been learning the recorder so that at performances, while people are setting up the drums in between songs, I can play some Japanese melodies to entertain the audience.  I've found some Japanese melodies, but they aren't in a very good key for the recorder (they mostly go too low, and if I play them an octave higher, they go into the "unbearably shrill" range of the recorder), so I thought, since I have the means to do so, that I'd start a new section of this website for these Japanese melodies transcribed so they're easier to play on the recorder.  Since I'm a beginner at recorder, it will be set up for beginners, with diagrams on the songs on how to play each note and...stuff.  I'll post more on that later.

Oh yeah, and
Happy First Birthday, Video Game Guitar Tabs!!!  (even though it was on the 22nd)
