| 14/10/08 - BUCS 08-09 League Kicks Off |

This Wednesday sees the Men's team go up against Nottingham in the first league match of the 2008-2009 season. In related news, Leicester's Women's team have had to withdraw from the Women's 1A league due to academic pressure; a blow, as the team enjoyed playing the Leicester ladies last year. The Women's team away match on 5th November is therefore cancelled. |

The 2007/2008 year finished on a fantastic high note as we were named Staffordshire University Club of the Year at Sports Presentation night. Many members also picked up awards for Half Colours, Full Colours and Club Colours, making it a night where Staffs Uni Fencing definitely got noticed! The 2008/2009 season is drawing nearer; BUCS (formally BUSA) has already released league dates- see the League page for details. The next step for Staffs Uni Fencing is Freshers Week, with representatives of the club attending the Clubs and Societies fair on both Stafford and Stoke campuses, ready to recruit new members. The new committee have taken over their roles and are ready to make this year just as successful as last year- if not more so! Head over to the Committee page to see the new faces of the club. |

Big congratulations to both ours Men's and Women's Fencing Teams who have both successfully made it into the BUSA Playoffs, which will be taking place this Wednesday then onto the Quarter Finals! Watch this space for results. |

Thursday club sessions (8:00-10:00pm) are now open for all members to attend. This was originally listed as a team only training night but all members are free to attend this session. |
