Self Catering 3 Stars

Built in 1750 and converted 20 years ago, Stable Cottage is the ideal place to relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life. This ‘B’ listed building is set amidst eight acres of garden along with the ‘A’ listed ruin of Glassaugh House, ancestral home to the Abercrombie and Ogilvy families.
The cottage is simply and sympathetically furnished, but with all modern amenities including electric central heating and double glazing. Traditional features such as the stable door, shuttered windows, and an open fire-place, give the cottage added charm.
The accommodation is ideal for a group of four, with one double bedroom and one twin-bedded room. The galley style ‘cottage-pine’ kitchen is furnished with cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave & washing machine. The recently refurbished bathroom has an over-bath shower and plenty of storage space. The comfortable lounge with room for dining, enjoys views onto the lawns, giving the chance to catch a glimpse of the deer which often pass through the grounds.

Stable Cottage is situated mid-way between the ancient fishing village of Sandend, with its gorgeous stretch of golden sand (picnic basket available on request), and the conservation village of Fordyce, with its pink stone Castle in the centre. The cottage is only a 10 minute walk from both spots along the historic right of way.

Those who want to travel further a-field will find the cities of Aberdeen and Inverness are just over an hour away. What better way to start, or indeed end a holiday, than a spot of monster hunting along the banks of Loch Ness.
You will also be within easy reach of the only A.A. Whisky Trail in the world, numerous castles (the Art Gallery at Duff House is only 15 minutes away), and  countless golf courses including the internationally renowned Royal Dornoch, Boat of Garten and Cruden Bay, all within two hours drive. You can see just why Stable Cottage is so popular with both the highly energetic and those who prefer the slower pace of life.

All rates are inclusive of electricity and bed-linen – towels are only supplied if you are arriving from overseas.

We look forward to giving you the warmest of Highland welcomes on your arrival at Stable Cottage, and both Yvonne and Dave assure you of a friendly personal service throughout the duration of your stay
