This is the view of the lake from the cottage or the deck. This picture was taken in late November just prior to sunset. You won't believe the beautiful sunsets in the summer.

The living room is very comfortable. The sofa folds out to a queen size bed which is ideal for the children or grandchildren. A television with a built-in VCR is located in the living room. Notice the open floor plan.

The kitchen is fully stocked with a dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, service for eight, coffee maker, toaster and an energy efficient refrigerator. If you have an item in your kitchen at home, its probably in the kitchen at Abacus Cottage. The kitchen, dining room and living room all face the lake.

 

Abacus Cottage is located on the east shore of Big Stone Lake, which is part of the famous Three Lakes Chain of 28 Lakes. The two bedroom cottage which sleeps six, is part of the former Three Lakes Haven Resort. There is a pier to dock your boat, sandy lake bottom for your swimming experience, and a playground with a slide and swings for the younger guests. Also part of the resort is a community firepit for evening campfires and a fish house for cleaning your daily catch.

The rental rate for Abacus Cottage is $860 plus tax for a week during prime time. ( Mid June through Mid August ) There is a 30% disount for rentals for off prime weeks. Daily rates, a two night minimum, are available during off peak weeks. Abacus Cottage is available through the winter. The Three Lakes snowmobile trail system goes right across Big Stone Lake.

For directions to the Big Stone Cottages click on the link below. When you turn on to Chicken in the Woods Rd, go for one mile. Then, turn left on Big Stone Drive. This will bring you to the parking area and cottages.
