Once Upon A Mattress

This year Eisenhower Middle School would like to present, "Once Upon A Mattress." Once upon a Mattress takes place in a small kingdom ruled by Queen Aggravain and the Silent King.  Their son, Prince Dauntless the Drab, wants to get married but the Queen has yet to approve a bride. To make things worse, the Queen created 'The Marriage Law' which states,"Throughout the land no one may wed 'til Dauntless to the altar's led." Sir Harry indures Lady Larken that, despite the Queen, they are certain to marry, someday. Harry convinces the Queen to let him search for a princess throughout the swamps. After three weeks he returned with Princess Winnifred the Woebegone.  Princess Winnifred is so eager that she swam the moat and climbed the walls of the kingdom to meet the Prince. Of course the Queen refuses to believe Winnifred is a genuine princess but Dauntless begs his mother to test her anyway. The Queen decides to test Winnifred's sensitivity by placing a pea under the twenty downy mattresses in her bedchamber. She will know if Winnifred is a "real" princess by whether she is able to sleep. Will Winnifred be caught sleeping or is she a genuine princess?  Looks like you will have to see the play to see what happens next!!!
