Pinewood Derby

Make a car and race it!

Important!  All cars must be pre-registered and weighed in during check in on Thursday only - 3-6 pm!

All cars must be pre-registered!

A limited number of cars will be available at the June fair committee meeting.  You can also purchase an Official Boy Scout car at a craft store.  Only Official Boy Scout cars will be accepted and permitted to race.

Cars will only be accepted and weighed in during Exhibit Hall check in on Thursday, 3-6 pm.

Due to the new scoring system, no cars will be accepted on Friday or after 6 pm on Thursday.

Important:   It would be most helpful if cars are weighed prior to the fair, however, scales may vary so please be prepared to make any necessary adjustments at official weigh in.  If cars are too heavy, we will provide a drill to remove weight.  If cars are too light, we will not be able to provide additional weight.  Participants are welcome to bring hot glue guns and weights, etc. to add the weight themselves. Maximum weight is 5 oz.  No minimum weight requirement.  The Pinewood Derby Committee suggests that any weight added should be added to the top of the car so the car will clear the track and be able to race.  No adjustments can be made after the final check in.    Don't swap car parts (wheels, axles).  Boy Scout cars have nails as axles.  This is all that will be accepted.

This will make it much simpler at check in time and leave lots of time to race on Race Day!

Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place,

Just added!!!!  In addition, prizes for Most 4-H Spirit, Most Patriotic & Most Agricultural!!
