Well, I like steam engines because they are loud, smelly, and they're just a bit dangerous. They represent the bygone victorian-industrial era when arcitecture was just big steel structures, and steam was king. I first found out about steam by reading the back of a popular science, there was an add that stated "Toy Steam Engines", and it listed a website, www.yesteryeartoys.com , thats where i got my wilesco D6, my second engine. My first was a old Wilesco D16, it wasen't running when i got it off of ebay, but i fixed it up, and got it running. I think today that maybe i should have kept it. Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda. So i moved on to better engines.
Why squirrel?
I went with squirrel because i draw lots of little doodles of my own brand of squirrels, which i will get a page up about how-to-draw.
This is my mamod TE1A steam tractor. This is it when i had the meccano crane hooked up that lifted 5 pounds, and was all belt drive. It is probalby the fastest steam tractor on the market, not exactly the most powerful, i have only pulled 5 pounds with it before the wheel slipped, or it stalled out. This cost me about 200 dollars plus shipping, so it wasen't cheap, but i do love it. This one i was going to trade odilon marcenaro (mooseman) for his SA1 roadster, but shipping costs for overseas was just to much!!!!

This one is awesome, as you can see, i have it mounted on a meccano truck. This little 85 has to be the sturdiest and most versitile engine i have. It runs like the clappers too!!! I have just recently gotten, this from christmas 06' and it is a very good engine, a fine example of the quality of a old world engine in new times. Jensen probalby has the friendliest staff and smallest factory i have ever seen, but somehow they churn out thousands of these marvelous engines. Jensen's site is www.jensensteamengines.com .

This is a very active and fun group that is full of information and just fun stuff regarding steam engines, with many regular posting memebers, i believe one member has over 13000 posts. The link is www.mamodforums.co.uk I am known as "TE1A_man" You should definitly check it out if you are into mamod, or any other model/toy steam.

This is probalby my most valuable engine and rarest engine i own (out of 4 remember), it is a old bing werke, anywhere from 1910-1930 as far as i know, but i cannot seem to find it on John O'Rear's site (www.johno.myiglou.com ), i guess meaning it is a rare(er) model. It is a overhead type as you can see, missing burner and smokestack, but whistle and saftey valve are still present, and it runs too, runs good!!! The flywheel has a major wobble, but as long as you hold the base it won't rattle too bad and won't walk away from you. By the way, it is for sale to any takers, name a fair price.
