YEAAAAAH. But seriously, I'm at duke TIP, again. TIP stands for Talent Identification Program, so basically, nerd camp. It's still fun though. i really don't feel like telling you what's happened since the last post, since it's been a long time (big surprise, right?). To sum it up, my friends don't care too much that I'm going to Marist. once I get back from these six weeks of camps, I'll be hanging with them a lot, I hope.Incase you haven't found out yet, I've created a new projects site. http://sites.google.com/site/lightscamerarobots is the URL. It's a site where I'll be posting all of my major projects like robots, movies, and such.Back to nerd camp, I'm taking Neuroscience (brain science). It's cool. We watch a lot of online videos because it's a field of science that is literally changing as we take the class. My instructor is Ben Allen. He's cool. He's constantly trying to keep the class awake, because some of these kids are easily bored by the inner workings of the brain. We were supposed to be at a dance right now, but it was supposed to be outside and it rained...hard. So, instead we get 2 more hours of free time and my friends and I are taking advantage of the opportunity. Well, I'm kind of bored now, soooooo.... I'll post more often later.Keep it real,spy101mb
Anyone who has a slight knowledge of the late 70s, or a dad who is constantly referencing those better times, knows that the key to success is to have Thunderball Fists! What are thunderball fists? I don't know, I never actually saw the Infra-Man movie, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that they probably had to do with some sort of giant explosion or something. So, as we head into spring, summer, and the close of the school year, I am embarking on a quest to aquire my own thunderball fists.
I've gone crazy, right? No, I'm just happy with life. Things are going well. I'm not even going to try to recap the last two months. Highlights include Lindsey's b-day party, and that's about it. See? Not much has been goin' on. But! This is merely the begining of 2008. These past few months have just been the time taken for the system to boot up. This week is when the login screen shows up and the whole world decides the user it will be for the rest of the year.
Why? Simple. This is the week of the 2008 8th grade Band Trip!!!!! The Peachtree Charter Middle School 8th grade Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will spend 4 days in Orlando, Florida. What happens on this trip will determine the rest of the school year, which will determine the fate of the summer, which will determine the start of the next school year. Clearly, this is big. (Well, duh! We're going to Disney!) It's going to be a chance to hang out with friends outside of school, especialy after the failed "let's get together at six-flags" attempt last weekend, which resulted in Adam and Mimz being the only ones to show up.
So, besides the fact that Orlando is coming, there is another reason life is good. The last nine weeks of school has started, and thus, a new class schedule (mainly just for P.E.). My circle of friends is expanding. It's really quite amazing when you think of how social circles interlock and grow everyday. Yes, my close circle has stayed the same, with the exception of the official addition of Dot (that's Danny's nickname, 'cause those are his initials), but my next to close circle is being formed. I became "friends" with kLee (not actually how you spell her name, just another nickname) earlier this year as a mathand science tutor. Now, since the schedule change, she is my link into another social circle. It's not exactly filled with good kids, but the majority of them are fun to be around.
Well, it's time to get ready for my quest to Orlando, to search for some Thunderball Fists!
A lot's happened. But, then again, when has there ever been a time where nothing has happened. Man that would be boring. Well, all ponderings aside, the last...23 days have been everything but boring.
Oh yeah, incase you were hoping for a straight forward "Where have I been?", sorry. Not this time.
As many of you know, I'm starting a new advanced math class, where I take a year and a half of highschool math in one semester. Fast, huh. Well, we've only just gotten through reviewing what we're suposed to know coming into this class and already half of the class is confused, tired, and whiny. Sounds like a good group doesn't it.
While we're on the topic of school, remember way back when I said I could feel something big was going to happen? Well, I think this whole month was that "big thing". Starting with the schedule change. I no longer get to hang with the same group of friends all day. Now, each of my classes has a different set of kids. This also means I only have one class, no two classes with Mimz. I know, I know. You're all saying "Get over her. You've already got Sam." Well, it's not that easy. Especialy since Mrs. Le still thinks I'm tutoring Mimz in French (which I really have to try to do) and she keeps putting me and Mimz on projects together. It doesn't help that, every other day, Mimz calls me up sounding all depressed and sad. Then I have to try to cheer her up. TRY.
Luckily for her, I've had a... well, I'm not sure what the word you'd use but, the end result is I looked to my past to see what changed to make me have so many issues, found the problem, changed the present, and now have a much happier life. The beauty of the situation, I didn't actually have to change my life.
What helped me do this, though at first I thought it wouldn't, was the redecoration/rearranging of my room. My bro and I still have to share a room (SIGH), but my dad's office is downstairs, so, his old office is now the studio. All of our music, legos, k'nex, toys, games, fun, computer stuff is in the studio. It's kind of like a play room.
So, that's the best summary of the last month I can do and still have you reading all the to this conclusion-esque paragraph. Adam's spending the whole week-end at my house while his sis goes to some band thing. Maybe my friends' lives will slow down a little. I gotta start sharing some advice with them.
'Till I get the chance to write some more, Start every day with a smile.
