Sprouting for Parrots

More Ideas & info on Sprouts

I leave the sprouts in their refrigerated container. Store your sprouts in an air tight container with a grate at the bottom. This helps to drain any excess water or juice so your sprouts won't sit in the liquid & will keep fresh fro longer. You can buy these kinds of containers just about anywhere now.

Add fresh cut

chilli, lime or lemon rind grated, grated ginger & many other things you can think of

as well as a few greens like bok choy, peas in the pod, baby spinach.

For parrots like the Eclectus spinach should be used very sparingly. For a sun conure you can use spinach in moderation as it is good for them.

 Sprout blends

sunflower, chickpeas, buckwheat, sesame, pinto, mung bean, adzuki, lentils, kidney, alfalfa, black turtle beans, garbanzo, corn, peas, just to name a few.

You can also soak your seed & beans in juice. The juice should be 100% natural. I use carrot juice to sprout my mung beans in. It is high in vit A & beta carotene which is essential for Eclectus Parrots.
