Springtime Stud

July 2009

We have been having a lot of fun with one of Hiawatha's sons, a gelding named Wendon Overture (Will to his friends). Ridden by Tracie Montebello he is placing consistently in HRCAV dressage comps and is just getting better and better. He is a lovely brown gelding, 14:3hh owned by Wendy Sargeant and has lived at the stud since he was a yearling. His sister, W. Tarantella also lives here and is expecting her first foal this October by Kilvington Scoundrel who crosses so well to the Hiawatha daughters.

Also in foal to Scoundrel is S. Serenity who is expecting her third foal to him at the end of November. Her first two foals by Scoundrel are exceptional, so the excitement is building for this one.

S. Lyric competed in her first pony dressage comp earlier in the year and did very well gaining third in a large field. She is now back home for a well deserved rest after whichshe will become my pleasure hack.

S. Lincoln has recently left for the breakers where he has settled in and is coming on well. He will be available for sale when he returns, ready to show. After him the next one will go. These are a couple of three, rising four year olds for sale to good homes. For more info just get in touch by email or phone.

Springtime Lyric (Kilvington Scoundrel X Springtime Lullaby)is back in work. She is currently with Craig Rawson in Lilydale being prepared for the coming show and dressage seasons. Mark Phillips who rides for Craig will be campaigning her. Mark has had great success in both the pony dressage and show arenas with Mrs Carmen Brown's Spring Valley Vagabond and is really enjoying working with both these talented ponies.

BARASTOC NEWCOMERS

17th February: It was very exciting to have two ponies make it to the finals of the Newcomer Large Pony on the extremely hot Saturday of the Barastoc weekend. Both  S. Hot Gossip (owned by Mrs Lyn Ward and ridden by Paula Heffernan) and S. Lyric performed really well in very trying conditions. As the stud averages only one or two foals a year I was very proud to have both of these ponies go through and behave so well. They certainly did the stud proud.
