I Love Lisa

 Episode #: 9F13

Original Airdate: Feb. 11th 1993

Chalboard Gag: I will not call the principal “Spud Head”

Plot: On Valentines Day, everyone gets valentines except Ralph. Lisa feels sorry for Ralph, so she gives him a valentine out of pity. Ralph takes it the wrong way and thinks Lisa has a crush on him. Ralph invites Lisa to a Krusty anniversary show. Lisa really wants to go, but she doesn't want to give Ralph the impression that she likes him. Eventually Lisa decides that she will go. First, Ralph spills chocolate ice cream on Lisa by accident. Then when Krusty interviews members of the audience, he interviews Ralph. He asks Ralph if Lisa is his girlfriend and Ralph proudly says yes, and says that he loves her. Lisa freaks out at Ralph and tells him the truth, that she only gave him the valentine out of pity. Ralph feels humiliated and is mad at Lisa. A few days later Lisa and Ralph have to put on a presidential play together. Ralph does an amazing job. After the play, Lisa gives Ralph a valentine that says "Let's Be Friends". Ralph is happy and then they go on the swings.

 Favourite Quote:
Bart: We have to that show!
Lisa: In order to get tickets, our parents would have to be part of Springfield’s cultural elite
(Homer walks in trying out a toothbrush from the Flander’s trash)
Homer: Can you believe Flanders threw out a perfectly good toothbrush?

Rating: * * * * */ "I Love Lisa" is one of my favourite Simpsons episodes ever. They should make more episodes revolving around Ralph!

Lard of the Dance

 Episode #: 5F20

Original Airdate: Aug. 23 1998

Guest Voice: Lisa Kudrow as Alex

Plot: Homer gets into the grease selling industry with Bart in hopes of making some extra cash. Meanwhile, Lisa is asked to show the new girl, Alex Whitney (voiced by Lisa Kudrow) around. Lisa displays interest in dolls, while Alex tells Lisa about her interest in perfume and cell phones. All of Lisa's friends take an interest in Alex and practically ignore Lisa. After Alex convinces Principal Skinner to change the annual "apple picking" to a dance, Lisa is distraught to find out that everyone except her has a date. She even resorts to bullying Milhouse into ditching his date and going with her. She then realizes that she's not being herself or standing up for what she believes in, so she goes dateless. At the dance, the boys and girls are too embarrassed to dance. Alex is shocked that they're being so immature. Lisa explains to Alex that they don't have to be mature, because they're just kids. During the dance, Homer and Bart sneak into the school to steal the grease from the cafeteria oven. They're caught by Willie, and Homer and Willie get into a fight. This causes a large grease explosion in which the gym is flooded by lard. Alex is enraged, but Lisa shows her how to have a good time, and a massive grease fight is started.

Favourite Quote:
Homer: Lisa, I can’t imagine anyone being more likeable than you. But apparently this new girl is. So my advice would be to start copying her in every way.
Lisa: But Dad –
Homer: Uh-uh! Think, “Is that what Alex would say?”

Rating: * * * * */5 Another great episode which shows that being yourself is more important than "fitting in"

Bart is promptly kicked out at dinner due to him using the word "butt". But Jessica likes that he's "bad" which prompts them to going through town commiting vandalism. Bart decides that she is too "bad", even for him. But Bart continues to get blamed for things Jessica really did, including stealing money that she stole from the church.
