Raven welcomes you to PAWSABILITY PLAYGROUND.
Raven has had a busy spring so far making new friends and doing home visits!
Raven loves to travel with her family and she's working hard at becoming a SouthPaw Ambassador for recruiting new adoptive and foster homes! She especially loves to do the home visits and meet the new people who want to help rescue her friends! She inspects the potential home with great care to make sure it is a safe and loving place and checks out the humans with a discerning eye. This is Raven's story about some of her work for the adoptions committee, ... in her own words!
PROSPECTS MEET RAVEN!
" May is my favorite month in Tennessee. The flowers are blooming, the humidity is low and I've found an exciting new way to help my friends! I get to meet new people who want to help us by adopting or fostering. I take my work very seriously because I want to make sure that each new prospective home for one of my friends is going to be a safe place where a dog can be loved as part of the family. I got to meet some very nice people this month and by the time mommy and I were finished with our visits, I gave my mom the 'tails up' flick of approval. When I really liked a new person, I would give them a lick and then look at my mommy to show her that these people are A-okay. Mommy does all the talking while I do all the snooping! After everybody meets me and tells me how beautiful I am, I begin my task by sniffing around the yard and garden areas looking for dangerous pests and escape holes in their fencing. I often get to meet the prospect's existing animals too, and I question them a lot about what kind of treatment they get in their home. We discuss what kind of treats, toys and activities are available. Sometimes, the existing pet will show me around their home and I get to check out their food and water supplies, sleeping arrangements and toys. Sometimes I get so excited about a new home and all the attention I'm getting that I feel a strong urge to leave a little of myself behind. Mommy follows me carefully to make sure that I keep my 'presents' to myself. However, recently she got distracted and I was having so much fun exploring and sniffing that I couldn't help myself and left a little 'pee-mail' for one of my future friends that might come here to live. Oops! The prospect was very nice about it though and quietly cleaned up after me and didn't get mad. So guess what? They got my two paws up for approval! Home visits are a lot of fun and I'm just learning how to do my job appropriately. I hope I get to do a lot more."
Raven encourages you to participate in our fund raising efforts so that more pets can be saved and made healthy again. Her friends deserve to join a loving family too!
