Members of the Standardbred Pleasure Associations, in Australia , are invited to take part in this exciting national, members-only, competition.
The competition has been expanded on what was offered last year and we believe the changes will encourage more members to participate.
There will be junior and senior sections in the competition as follows:
Juniors-handler/rider to be under 18 years of age on 1st July 2009
Junior Led Gelding Junior Led Mare
Junior Ridden Gelding Junior Ridden Mare
Seniors-handler/rider to be 18 years or over on 1st July 2009
Senior Led Gelding Senior Led Mare Senior Led Stallion
Senior Ridden Gelding Senior Ridden Mare Senior Ridden Stallion
With the following states Tasmania , Queensland , New South Wales , Victoria , South Australia and Western Australia all now taking part in what has the capacity to become one of the largest show-ring competitions in Australia .
Each state association, participating in this season’s competition, has nominated 4 shows that offer led and ridden classes that lead to a
Supreme Led Exhibit sash presentation and a Ridden Champion sash presentation.
The shows for South Australia are:
· Gawler Ag - 30th August 2009
· Southern Equestrian - 4th October 2009
· Kapunda Breed Show - 11th October 2009
· Northern Hack & Halter (Mt Pleasant) - 6th December 2009
To be eligible to contest this competition, you need to fill in the entry form at the bottom of this sheet and return it with entry fees of $15 for each
Section you wish to contest – either led or ridden or both. The maximum entry fee is $30.
You will be issued with a Standardbred National High Point performance card. This card is to be taken to each of the 4 shows, where you
are to record your placing and have the card signed by the judge or ring steward. No other signatures will be accepted.
All cards are to be returned to PO BOX 104 Mallala SA 5502 After last show. Unsigned cards will be deemed unacceptable.
Point allocations will be as follows:
1st place 4 points Supreme 10 points
2nd place 3 points Champion 8 points
3rd place 2 points Reserve 6 points
4th place 1 point
The Points are not accumulative. The horse that is awarded a Supreme can only achieve 10 points, a Champion 8 points, a Reserve 6 points. 1st place and no Champion, or Supreme will achieve 4 points etc.
Achievement sashes will be presented to the Top 5 in each section as follows:

Senior Led Gelding Senior Led Mare Senior Led Stallion
Senior Ridden Gelding Senior Ridden Mare Senior Ridden Stallion
Sashes will be awarded to both junior and senior sections as follows;
· Top placement sashes will be awarded to horses that place 1st to 5th in each class group.
· The horse with the highest points in the combined class group(i.e. the 2 led stallion classes) will receive a Champion sash for the class group, second highest will receive a Reserve sash.
· In the led section, the Champion horse that has the highest points will receive a Supreme sash.
· In the ridden section, the Championship horse that has the highest points will receive a Supreme sash.
· Of the horses that contest both the led and the ridden sections, the horse with the highest points(for led and ridden) will receive the National Performance Horse sash.
· There will be no equal Reserve/ Champion/ Supreme/ National Performance Horses, the number of horses contested against at all shows attended will be used for a count back to determine single winners.
