***Congratulations to the Sports Marketing class for putting on a successful "Fan Fun Day." Keep a lookout for more upcoming events!!
Throughout the spring season, we will be talking with the players to get an inside scoop on their views on the up coming season. Our class will be interviewing a girl and a boy from each sport. The first two players bios are listed below:
COLIN HOULIHAN
As a senior at Yorktown High School, Colin Houlihan is anticipating this upcoming lacrosse season. He first became interested in lacrosse through his cousins who were active lacrosse players. Colin has now been playing for about seven years.
His lacrosse skills have helped the Yorktown boys lacrosse team keep their impressive reputation. The team practices five days a week, and after each two hour practice, the boys, "put on their running shoes," and run together. Colin predicts that the upcoming season will go very well, perhaps better than last years season. The team this year is solid and is already showing outstanding team unity. Although the team has great confidence, there is still some competition. Their biggest competition in their class is Lakeland, and in the section, their ongoing rivals John Jay Cross River will serve as their biggest competition this year.
Come support the boys lacrosse team at their first game against Fox Lane on April 9th!
MISSY POLCHINSKI
Missy Polchinski, a senior at YHS, is excited about her upcoming lacrosse season. She played on last years state champion team. Missy says that the team won states last year not soley because of their talent, but because of their unbelievably strong team unity. The teams faith in each other helped them win their impressive title.
Missy hopes that the team this year can make it as far as well. She says, " Hopefully we will go as far as last year and be able to wear another one of those sick rings!" She predicts they will do well and strive for another state championship. Missy wants to win another championship to experience that amazing feeling the team felt last year at the end of the game. The team is ready to take on this years season with all they've got. Missy lastly tells us that the games to look forward to are against Lakeland and Suffern.
Come support the girls lacrosse team and watch them make it to the top!
