Guns! A peek in John's amazing "Truckzilla" box. Let's see ... there's a shotgun that looks like a Mossberg, a flare gun, the old sawed-off double barreled shotgun, and some throwing stars. That lovely shiny rifle is a Winchester model 1866 "Yellowboy" saddle carbine, which comes in .38 special, .44-40 or .45 long colt. Nice if you want to pepper a lot of rounds out there, but not the biggest gun on the block. Sadly, I can't make out the rest of the guns above those ...

SHOTGUNS: Well, here we go with the boys and their ghost guns. Not a whole lot to say, here. Sammy's sawed-off, double-barreled shotgun could be almost anything, just a cut down goose gun of unknown vintage, possibly borderline antique. The third frame over shows Sam with a pump shotgun, but it's not John's Mossberg, seen above, and there's just not enough for me to quite pinpoint. Anyone?

WINCHESTER Model 1897 pump shotgun, 12 or 16 guage, 6 round capacity:
Oh, here we go! This is a cut-down Winchester pump shotgun, another old reliable and a regular alley-sweeper. They were in production from 1897 to 1957, so this is a bit of an antique.

WINCHESTER CARBINE either Model '94 or 1866 Yellowboy, 6-round capacity:
The lighting makes it hard to say if this is the "yellowboy" from John's box above, but in any case, it is a Winchester saddle carbine, lever action. If it is the "yellowboy" then possible calibers are .38 special, .44-40 or .45 long colt. If it's the Winchester Model '94, then it could be a .30-30 - but I own one of those and that mother *hurts* to shoot! (Someone tells me this may actually be Jo's rifle from their first Roadhouse visit.) Anyhow ... Winchester with a Winchester. Yeah.

FLARE GUNS: Move over, John Wesley Hardin, we have Dean Winchester and his two flare guns! They must be effective against various spooks, since they are seen in the trunk as a regular part of the boys' arsenal.

CROSSBOW: Okay, I don't know diddley about modern crossbows, but I do know this. The original medieval ones could punch right through plate armor at close defensive distances, so I can only imagine that our modern, high tech ones (with a scope, no less!) must be equally impressive.

TASERS: Where on earth did our boys get tasers? Wait, don't ask. But they work. I've seen video of them used on people, and they pretty much reduce you to convulsions on the instant. They work by firing little gas-propelled, dart-like electrodes attached to fine wires, which upon impact totally screw up your nerve and muscle function. Like ow. Normally they fire 50,000 volts: Dean in his enthusiasm said he amped theirs up to 100,000 during "Faith", so at double the normal voltage ... yeah. Though if you want to really geek out about Tasers, read This Article

M16 RIFLE in 223 caliber, 20 or 30 round magazine:
Last but not least on our list of things that go boom or zap, we have poor Ron and his M16 rifle. I can't recall if the boys took it with them or not, but if they did, well, it's some serious firepower, and while it has its faults, it's been in the arsenal of the U.S. military and many law enforcement agencies for over 35 years.

KNIVES: Like a good boy scout, Dean has a couple lockback pocket knives, handy for things like examining shape-shifter slime. And to make sure he sleeps soundly at night, (obviously to Sam's chagrin) he keeps a 10-inch Bowie style hunting knife under his pillow. Awww, ent that sweet? (Sadelyrate tells me this knife is probably a Muela Bowie knife, the # 2 Model shown here.) Awesome!

Last but not least, Sam's Cool Curvy Knife that we saw in promo photos and for 2/10s of a second in the Pilot. It's pretty impractical, designed for slashing rather than stabbing - but it looks cool! It is known as the "Klaww of Death" or "Alien Claw" by retailers of fantasy weapons.
