The Rundown
The bottom line is I need to fix my car up on a limited budget. Right now all I have is plans and some expert advice. Out of the multiple concepts I've researched, I am beginning to narrow down my ideas. (07/20/05)
Today (07/28/05) I went to Maaco to get an estimate on how much it would coast to get my car prepped and painted. Well it turned out to only be about $300 to prep but.. I had my heart set on a metallic white but it seems that thats the most expensive one to go with. So I might keep the color and maybe go with metal flakes. What are metal flakes one might ask himself, well I know I did, they are huge metallic specks that would make my car light up blue green. Believe me -its hot.
So This is the game plan- buy my kit, when it comes I'm gona mount it up ( cut the holes, make sure that it fits properly, ex.) then remove all the molding that is around the windows and hood. loosen the tail lights so they will be able to work faster. Then I will remove the kit (except for the new fenders). Take the kit to Maaco so they can prep it. After, I'll take in my car, they will reset the kit and prep & paint the car. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. The total coast for the kit, prep, and paint will be about $1,700. Ouch!
(07/30/05) Purchased the kit this morning. The total coast of the kit plus accessories was $641.46, not bad; but i got screwed by the shipping... $298.94 That makes the total $940.40... Wow, I can feel a sharp pain in my wallet. This purchase includes clear corner lens (pair), buddy club rear bumper + side skirts, Xtreme front bumper, and X-2 fenders (pair). This stuff better work or I'll be pissed!

(09/01/05) Made some phone calls to get caught up on the order's progress. Found out were I could pick up the kit "Yellow Freight". Now it is finally in my Possession. I plan to start work on it this weekend with Tom's help. Check it out under The Development.
(09/04/05) Dropped the car off at Tom's after work on Saturday, then we brought the kit to his house. Started working on the car around 4:00pm by removing the old body frame. Then drilled the kit to match the original bolt mounts. Finished the back bumper around 10:00pm. Worked on the fenders till 12:00pm then called it a night. The next day resumed work at 8:00am, finished all but the sideskirts by 1:00pm.
(09/09/05) I finally got around to putting on the side skirts today. They had thier problems, but thats life. As long as they don't fall off when I'm driving I'll be happy. The pics should be on the new site very soon.
(10/22/05) Fix the body
kit with some friends the other day. Everything matches up
perfectly now. Also we replaced the stock air intake and
installed a racing filter. Now the engine sounds great when i
push it over 4,000 rpm, plus it added on a few horse power.
Shame Shame on me for not updating my weblog for my car over the winter. However, I have been working diligently on my car. I would say the latest project with my car as of (01/09/06) is the tail lights. I was planning on pushing it back a few months, but a little visit from the cops changed my plans. So as of now I am waiting on my $90 dollar worth of taillights.
Also last month Ryan and I went to X-treme window tinting in Allentown. It coast $200 bucks, but they do a bang up job, 610-439-2121 Good place.

My
friend Jon needed some cash for his guitar stuff and I wanted his subs
so I bought his two 1000 watt JBL subs with a 600 watt amp for $300. In
writing it looks like I robbed Jon blind but that went down last
November and I think we both feel good about it.
Went to Sears and got all-weather tires for the winter and it ended up coasting my $500 bucks.
Before any of this happened I took a leap of faith, In myself and in my friends. I spent all of the money I had saved up for my car's paint job and put it into the performance aspect of the car. I used $900 bucks to put on a new AEM cold air intake, Nology Hot wires, Iridium spark plugs, and a beautiful cat-back HKS exhaust.
(04/30/06) For the past month I've been working on the body [shaving down, molding, fiberglass work, and preping]. The back bumper is almost done. I'll put the pics up on the sister site.
(06/04/06) Took the car into Maaco last Wensday, had them finish the prepping and paint it. Also I plan on them installing a skid-plate to add protection. Paint came to about $889 and the skid-plate was estimated at $120.
Got the car back on 666. (06/06/06)
Bought new Rims online with kumho tires. It coasted me $663 but im happy with the purchase.(8/2/06)
