-Bill of Rights, Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
Gun ownership - that’s the subject of this evening’s Talking Points memo.
This is a subject which is pretty clear cut, from what I can tell. Every time something like the Columbine High School shooting happens, the liberals come out swinging. Some of them believe it's for the country's good; others see the recent events as their chance to disarm American citizens and further empower the govenment. Whatever the case, it isn't right.
Guess what - there's a word for the kind of person who tells the cashier to hand over the cash register at gunpoint: criminal. By their very nature, they aren't law-abiding. So by outlawing firearms, the only people who will have them are the criminals. And now, rather than decreasing the problem, you've only blown it up, because not only do the criminals still have guns, the good guys don't have them for self-defense, because by their very nature, they are law-abiding.
More than anything, we must consider what the founding fathers first put in place. And before you start editing the Constitution or twisting the truth, they'd like a word with you. I believe their intentions are more than clear.
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -Thomas Jefferson
"Arms in the hands of citizens [may] be used at individual discretion... in private self-defense." -John Adams
"[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation... [where] the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." -James Madison
"...arms... discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischeif would ensue were [the law-abiding] deprived of the use of them." -Thomas Paine
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." -Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria
"A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves... and include all men capable of bearing arms... To preserve liberty it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike... how to use them." -Richard Henry Lee
"The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." -Samuel Adams
"I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people... to disarm the people is the best and most efficient way to enslave them..." -George Mason
Wacko Teachers: What Are They Preaching To YOUR Children?
That's the subject of today's second Talking Points memo.
If you think the media is bad, what about the public schools? They're even worse. Do you have any idea what liberal teachers are brainwashing your children with? Have you ever sat in on their "lessons"? Probably not, and they probably wouldn't let you.
Mr. Bennish is a 10th grade public school teacher in Aurora, Colorado. After getting tired of his liberal rants, a student complained to his parents, who assumed he was probably exaggerating. When the student tape recorded his teacher's sermon, the parents were stunned. Please keep in mind that the following was supposed to be his Geography lesson. Let me know if you think that's what it sounds like.
"Now, if we have the right to fly into Bolivia and Peru and drop chemical weapons on top of farmers' fields because we're afraid they might be growing cocoa and that could be turned into cocaine and sold to us, well, then don't the Peruvians and the Iranians and the Chinese have the right to invade America and drop chemical weapons over North Carolina to destroy the tobacco plants that are killing millions and millions of people in their countries every year and causing them billions of dollars in health care costs?"
I would be shocked enough to hear this coming from a liberal college campus, but high school?!
"Where in this definition does it say anything about capitalism is an economic system that will provide everybody in the world with the basic needs that they need? Is that part of the system? Do you see how this economic system is at odds with humanity, at odds with caring and compassion, it's at odds with human rights?"
This fellow is just a cliché, he's such a stereotypical liberal.
"Now, do we really want to kill innocent people? I don't know. I don't know the answer to that. I know that there are some Americans who do, people who work in the CIA, people who have to think like that, those kind of dirty minds, dirty tricks, that's how the intelligence world works. Sometimes you do want to kill people just for the sake of killing them."
And how does he justify 9/11?
"When Al-Qaeda attacked America on September 11th, in their view they're not attacking innocent people, okay? The CIA has an office in the World Trade Center. Pentagon is a military target. The White House was a military target. Congress is a military target."
Even Osama bin Laden himself isn't that stupid! He himself wouldn't try to say the Twin Towers were military targets. He just says we're all infidels and that's enough to justify it in his eyes - the fact that we are Americans - but with friends like Mr. Bennish in America, he won't have to say a word.
"To many Americans, that flag [the American flag] is no different than the Nazi flag or the Confederate flag. It represents people that came and stole their land, lied, brought disease, rape, pillage, destruction, etcetera."
Next he attacked Bush's State of the Union address.
"He started off his speech talking about how American should be the country that dominates the world. And we have been blessed essentially by God to have the most civilized, the most advanced, best system, and that it's our duty as Americans to use the military to go out into the world and make the world like us. Sounds a lot like the things that Adolg Hitler used to say! 'We're the only ones who are right, everyone else is backwards, and it's our job to conquer the world and make sure they all live just like we want them to.' Now I'm not saying that Bush and Hitler are exactly the same, obviously they're not, but there are some eerie similarities to the tones that they use. Very, very ethno-centric, alright?"
If you ask me, and I listened to the whole thing, his screeching, aggravated, high-pitched tirade was more like Hitler's fury-driven addresses than anything Bush has said.
I would like you to know that what I put on this page are the kindest portions of his tirade. You can listen to to him spew all of the quotes on this page, here, from a broadcast by Rush Limbaugh. Or, listen to the whole thing on this website.
Now this teacher is suing the school district and has hired ACLU lawyer David Lane to defend him. (Incidentally, that's also the name of a neo-Nazi leader, currently incarcerated in the Federal Supermax prison in Florence, Colorado, but that is of no consequence).
He says his temporary suspension - too little punishment, really - violates his right of free speech. Of all the screaming farces I have ever heard, this tops them all. He does indeed have a right to free speech and to spout his own views - even in public, from the rooftops if he wants. But not in the public schools to students!
This liberal hippie's point about everything, including 9/11, is thus: All of this is our fault. We deserve this. We deserve all of this because of what we have been doing around the world.
So please, parents, reconsider what kind of propaganda your children are being made to listen to in public schools. I understand this is even more radical than the typical teacher, but they are more common now than you know. Do everything you can to get teachers like this where they belong and to get good people in there, teaching, where they belong.
And that's the memo.
Propaganda of the Press
That's the subject of today's Talking Points memo.
You may not believe it, and I know many Americans don't, but the overwhelming majority of all major news networks are biased - usually left-leaning, but sometimes even right. You are being decieved, every day, like it or not, by the news you watch and listen to, not to mention the movies you take in. We have scores of examples to prove it, here in the No Spin Zone. If I were to keep all of them, I'd need a lot of computers.
I, O'Reilly 2, have gone over this issue many times in my news as well as my articles, but this time I'm going to devote a Talking Points memo to it - as well I should.
Just this week a Zogby poll reported more than 50% of American forces in Iraq want to pull out within the next six months. This poll got a ton of media play, but what you were not told is that the Center for Peace and Global Studies, which worked on the survey, is a hotbed of anti-Iraq War sentiment.
The associate director of the center, which is located at Les Moines college, is a man named Kenneth Wattenpew, who actually traveled to Iraq with Bianca Jagger (Mick Jagger's first wife, if you didn't know.... have we no shame?!) - to assess the damage the U.S. is allegedly doing. Wattenpew is a far-left guy; no question. So shouldn't the Zogby poll people have mentioned that?
Likewise, the San Fransico Chronicle ran a story saying that homosexuals are experiencing phsycological and harm because gay "marriage" is banned. The Chronicle cited a study by the National Sexuality Resource Center. And who funds that center?
How about the far, far, far left pro-gay marriage Ford Foundation?
Somehow, the SF Chronicle failed to mention that as well.
Point is, the American press had become a conduit for propaganda. Standards have collapsed; very few media outlets report for accuracy and fairness. Nearly every day we see TV programs and newspapers using ideological websites as primary sources!
The result is, of course, a massive deception: a distortion of the truth.
So what can be done to get you the truth? Answer: nothing. No one oversees the media in this country (except Hollywood, in my opinion).
Now, if I were to recommend a news source I would recomment Rush Limbaugh, but I do admit he is a conservative outlet of information. If you want center-of-the-road reporting, however, visit www.foxnews.com and tune in - especially to Talking Points, located among other videos near the bottom of the page.
America's media is unsupervised from the outside, except for by Michael Moore, so that's why the No Spin Zone concept was invented. Fox News does their own reporting there, and their own research. There are no agenda-driven fanatics trying to fool you at their operation. "That's why", O'Reilly says, "the Kool-Aid drinkers on both sides despise us: we debunk them; they can't stand it. Three cheers for us."
Amen. And that's the memo.
