name means: Kazuma- peaceful and triumphant; Kuwabara- mulberry feild

Kuwabara is a typical street punk -- or so it would seem. He's actually a sweet, loyal, caring, kitten-loving softy. He believes strongly in teamwork and loyalty and would never turn his back on a friend in need. Despite all his high points, he remains as one of the single most hated characters in all of anime. (Poor guy.) While at one point he had a pretty big crush on Botan, he is now hopelessly in love with Yukina. He's the only one of the Reiki-tantei who doesn't know that Yukina is Hiei's sister. This makes it rather amusing that he promised to help her search for her lost brother.

For years he was Yusuke's rival but could never beat him in a fight. But he never gave up, trying time and again to best him. After they became detectives and friends, they didn't fight as much- but have the occasional brawl. Kuwabara is now more often arguing (sometimes one-sided) with Hiei. He and Kurama seem to get along well. (As an amusing side-note, some girls once thought Kurama was Kuwabara's girlfriend )

After the Dark Tournament, Kuwabara lost his spirit power. He still insisted, however, on helping with the Sensui case. As it turned out, his power was 'hibernating,' growing stronger. His subconscious had recognized the coming danger and was preparing for it. This led to his being kidnapped by Sensui, who wanted his power to break the barrior between the Reikai and Makai. His power was harnessed into the Dimmensional Sword.
