Welcome

Last updated: 3 Jan 09 (update list below)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!

Hi folks, welcome to 2009!  This year, my resolution is to actually move this website over to my new site.  I've GOT to learn how to make websites, rather than just take the simple web-editor route.  I'm no computer expert, but even old dogs can learn new tricks.  Still working on customer projects, as well as a couple new tricks up my sleeve...  I've got an exciting new modification I'm making to a stock that should come out ridiculously cool, very tactical.  For now, I'm leaving up the photos of recent work here:

CUSTOMIZATION SERVICES:

I provide customization and repair work for paintball markers and equipment.  For a list of services I can provide for you, please check out:
http://www.freewebs.com/spindoctorpaintball/customservices.htm

My motto is:  "Do it right the first time, or don't do it at all!"  For me, the proof is in the pudding, so check out these videos for example of how I can help you repair or modify your paintball markers and equipment:

Paintball is a sport in which teams of people compete in an arena to beat the other team by means of marking them with a paintball.  Paintballs are water-soluble gelatin capsules that break upon striking an object.  The first paintball game ever played was in June 1981 in Henniker, New Hampshire.  Since then it has grown to be the fastest growing sport in America, faster so than even snowboarding and skateboarding.  Please enjoy this site!

Jason "Spin Doc"

This is a site dedicated to the sport of paintball.  I hope you enjoy the wealth of information within these pages.  Here you'll find custom paintball markers, stories, reviews, and LOTS of pictures and video!  Whether you're just starting out, a seasoned veteran, or a collector of vintage paintball items, you'll find a lot of interesting things here.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or comments.  Enjoy!

News And Updates

Updates:

3 Jan 09:  First post of 2009, hopefully I can keep this up!  Just a couple minor edits.  I'm going to be working on a new webpage soon, that way I can transfer from this address to my own domain!

10 Nov 08:  I finally added a section on Palmer Owner's Group Weekend 2008, which I went to back in March!  Oh well, better late than never.

26 Oct 08:  Wow, how long has it been?!  Let's just say I've been busy.  Enjoy a couple updates.

27 Jul 08:  Long time, once again.  Lots of school and work.  I'm working on some new wood projects, will post more in the current projects section as I go.

14 Mar 08:  Some more updates, new pictures and new projects!

1 Jan 08:  How long has it been?  Wow, almost 4 months...  I have been super-busy with graduate school classes.  Now I'm on to some easier semesters, so hopefully I still have time to update this site and keep in touch with everyone.  I have been working on a couple projects, so I added those to the Current Projects page.  Also, I added a forum, we'll see how useful that is.  I'll have to keep a close eye on it, I know a bunch of idiots will post graphic photos and cuss words...  Anyway, Happy New Year to all!

18 Sept 07:  I just added a Halo 3 logo and a funny Halo 3 "NES" picture.  If only that were true, hehe.  Remember to buy Halo 3 on Sept 25th!

13 Aug 07:  I significantly updated the Reviews page, I finished the Hurricane review and I added an all-new Deadlywind Fibur barrel review.  Check 'em out!  Also, fixed the POG weekend paragraph, the pictures were all jacked up.  I'll be updating all of the stories to make them more readable...

10 Aug 07:  So, I'm back on the site here.  As stated in the opening paragraph, I have been very tied up, but now I'm back and ready to keep updating.  I've got a few more reviews and things I'd like to start putting up.  I'd also like to clean up that section altogether.  I also made some significant changes to the My Paintball Markers page.  Check out the Blazer and the new Marauder picture.  I'll get to work...

21 May 07:  Made some administrative updates, nothing exciting here.

4 Apr 07:  POG Weekend update, baby!!!  What a great time, check it out on my events page.

18 Mar 07:  I'm gearing up for POG Weekend in Sacramento, CA.  I didn't make too many changes to the webpage, just wanted to let everyone know I'm still updating things.  Any suggestions, please email me.

12 Jan 07:  I made a LOT of changes recently.  I created an entirely new 'How-To' page.  You will find a bunch of neat articles on Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects.  Particularly, # 04 shows you how to build a MiniMag (AutoMag) pump.  Also, check out the 'My Paintball Videos' page, I've made quite a few additions lately.  Enjoy those, it's not often you get to see all sorts of paintball markers in-action!

4 Jan 07:  First update of the new year!  It's been a while since I updated this page, the past 2 months have kept me busy and travelling all the time!  I created this News and Updates section to let people know what was going on, but it seems that it's more likely just for me, as I keep track of all my progress with these pages.  Oh well, here's what I did recently: I added new pictures to the home page of the recent "trio" of electros that I purchased.  A Lasoya Intimidator and 2 AKA Vikings.  These things are awesome, no doubt about that.  I just wanted to try them out and then I'll be selling them.  I will have some videos posted on the My Paintball Videos page soon.  Also, I posted How-To # 02: Mounting a Q-Loader on a Hurricane.  I got a chance to play on 2 Jan 07 and try it out, let's just say that it was awesome, and you can read the rest in the Current Projects section.

26 Oct 06:  I have made a TON of updates recently.  Most significant are the paragraphs on the "My Paintball Markers" page.  I restructured them to talk more about the specific attributes of each paintball marker.  I even renamed the page!  I added a new marker, a MacMurray Marauder bolt-action.  And, you'll see a new page, the "My Paintball Videos" page.  Look for a 'How-To' article on fixing a Sheridan valve in the near future.  I'm going to be writing a few more articles on the Reviews/Myths page as well.  I SOLD all of the paintball markers I wanted to (4 to be exact) to generate some cash flow for some other projects.  Check back for updates on a daily basis.

13 Sept 06:  I added a section on Autococker suction-timing to the Current Projects page.  I am going to create a series of 'How-To' articles that detail some of the different things I've done to my markers.  Hopefully, this will either inspire the DIYers (Do-It-Yourself) or GENERATE SOME BUSINESS for me!

29 Aug 06:  3000th visitor today!  I updated the For Sale page, and will keep it updated.  Also, I moved a whole bunch of the photos around internal folders, resized them, and reposted them.  They should all work properly now, and the pages should look a little cleaner.

21 Aug 06:  I added a little video of me firing one of the Sydarms.  It looks pretty sweet, I'm trying to add more videos as I get time to make them.  Although, I'm trying to sell that pistol to make some room in my collection for some more guns, so... I guess the video will be a good memory of it...

17 Aug 06:  Well, it's time to rotate some of my 'ponies in the stable.'  Please see the For Sale page for the refurbished KP2 and one of my Sydarms.

31 Jul 06:  I added a cool new 'video link' to both the GZ Intimidator and Hurricane paragraphs in the My Paintball Guns section.  Enjoy!

13 Jun 06:  Wow, it's been a while!  I added a new story section to the Tournaments/Events section, Oklahoma D-Day 2006, and plenty of photos!

5 April 06:  I changed the site template back to the original version, as the pictures and text display much cleaner.  I also hyperlinked my KP2 project from the main page and added the topic to my "Current Projects" page.  I will be working on an HTML version of the site, as I'd like to add some more functionality that doesn't currently exist.

18 Mar 06:  Cleaned up the links page, made sure all of them work!  Also, added some more photos to the "My Paintball Guns" page, and updated the rest to show the current state of each gun.

14 Mar 06:  I changed the entire site template.  I like the new look and will continue to make adjustments until everything aligns properly.  Also, took care of some immature comments in the guestbook, we have some real winners browsing the Internet...

3 Mar 06:  Added, the Tempest, my newest custom paintball marker.  Also, updated the Current Projects section and the My Guns section with the pictures.

5 Jan 06:  I put a link in the title paragraph with my new business, DVDConversionPros.com.

28 Dec 05:  New links added to home page, silly guestbook entry deleted.

2 Dec 05:  Added a new title paragraph to the home page.  Check out Project Red-Eye: The Tinkerer's Lock In.  Also, added a section with pictures of pump Snipers, complements of an MCarterBrown thread.

24 Oct 05:  Revised the Current Projects page, I'm in the process of oiling the stock now, almost ready for Palmers!

26 Sept 05:  Added the Hurricane project to the Current Projects section.  I hope this gives you some tips for refinishing an older wooden-stocked paintball gun!

25 Aug 05:  I put up 6 or 7 gun reviews today, to bring the total close to 10.  If you have a review to add, summarize each category I've listed and send it to me via email, I'll add it to the page.

22 Aug 05:  Added more reviews of the guns I currently own (at the request of someone in the guestbook, good suggestion!).  Also, removed some 'uncouth' guestbook comments.  It's a wonder how some jerks get along in life... well, I guess it's easier to hide behind the computer monitor than your words...

2 Aug 05:  I uploaded all the Hurricane photos and I will be adding the section on the Photos page.  Check for more in the coming weeks!

29 July 05:  This month, I'm going to be adding the Hurricane section to the photos page.  Please check that out to read up on the history and see lots of cool photos of Glenn Palmer's creations!

7 July 05:  I got engaged this past weekend, I haven't been in town to update the site, more news to come soon!

26 May 05:  I completed my MiniMag pump, photos of it are in the Current Projects section, as well as the My Paintball Guns section.  Next up, finish my old 90's WGP Autococker!

19 May 05:  Added 99 STO photos to My Paintball Guns.  I have been out of town for a long time, so this site is due for updates.  Check back for more by next week (end of May).

20 Apr 05:  I got my 2nd AGD Sydarm in the mail!  Thanks to Drum from MCarterBrown for the sale.  Also, there's a big ol' rifle lurking in the Current Projects section.  I mated the stock to my AT85 and took pictures (with a new digi camera!).  Enjoy the updates!

8 Apr 05:  Check out the link to: http://www.specialopspaintball.com/brigade/main.asp and sign up with referral # 15503 (name: Jason Spindler, ID: SpinDoctor15).  I'd appreciate the points, and you can have an awesome experience on this site!

7 Apr 05:  Added the Current Projects page, for pictures and details of the latest handiwork.  Also, switched up the photo section a bit.  I moved the 'cool custom guns' paragraph to the top.  Also, I found some cool photos of my buddy Jay at D-Day 2004 and posted them on the Tournaments/Events page!

6 Apr 05:  Bought a Sydarm.  Talked about it above.  Added the picture.  That's it for now!

21 Mar 05:  Made some decisions and some movement of pages.  I deleted the Dream Guns page and added the custom gun pictures to my photos page.  It was too cluttered having three pages for photos.  Now it's simple.  One page for my guns, one for everybody else's!  Also, added a For SALE/TRADE page.  I'm going to be posting all the various items I have for sale on this page.  I'm going to list the repair/maintenance/modification services that I offer as well, that way anyone who wants work done can contact me and I can offer some affordable quality modification/repair work!

14 Mar 05:  Okay, so I'm obsessed with updating this page.  Today, I also completed the Phantom review (sorry for anyone who was waiting for it to be finished).  I also added a new page, now that I have the ability to do so.  It's called Dream Guns - I Want, and on the page I list all of the neat guns I've come across in the past few years.  Also, I've listed a bunch of the custom or unique guns I'd like to get ahold of.  Some are very costly, in fact most are, but there's no free lunch, especially a gourmet lunch...

14 Mar 05:  Web services are upgraded.  Added a new event, the OSC Padiwan Pump Tournament.  I included three pictures which the tournament staff took of us.  The story is pretty neat, I describe some great moves during the tournament as well as some practical advice for aspiring tournament players.

11 Mar 05:  Well, I finally bit the bullet and I'm upgrading my web services ($42 for the whole year, which includes file uploading and video uploading).  I don't have all the technical know-how in the world to do these things on my own, so I'll be learning as time goes on.  If you have suggestions for how to do my own website through HTML (or maybe even nifty things like Java and Flash) and then upload to a different site, I would appreciate it!  For now, check out the Pump Automag section I'm going to be putting up.

13 January 05:  Man, I've been busy updating a lot!  I added ENTIRE STORIES to the Tournaments/Events Section.  I figured that Wedge took the time to write these stories, I may as well post them in their entirety.  They are long but well worth the read.  You can get an idea of what scenario play is like, what you can do during a scenario, and most importantly, how different it is from speedball!

12 January 05:  Fixed the links section.  Removed broken and old ones, added some new ones, and stuck a cool picture of a Tippmann A-5 on an X-Ray machine!

6 January 05:  Finished the Photo Section with the history of some common pumps.  There are many more pump guns in existence, but I simply don't have the space and photo capacity to display them all.  However, I'm obsessed with Phantoms, so I hope you enjoy the nearly half-a-page full of them.

4 January 05:  Welcome to 2005 everyone!  Hope the Winter Break went well and everyone got what they wanted for gifts.  New sections added to the page.  I decided I should photograph my markers and put the phots up.  Check out the new page, titled "My Paintball Guns."  Two scenarios added to the "Tournaments/Events" Page, thanks to Wedge for the great stories on the Matrix 01 and Border Wars.  Added more to the "Links" page.

18 October 04:  I decided to tackle the exciting world of pumps.  Check out the photo section as well as the reviews section where I put an old Phantom through the ringer!  If you've never played pump before, you're in for a real world of change.  I recommend that everyone put down their auto-blenders and pick up a hefty piece of machinery from the past.  Keep in mind, current manufacturers still produce pump markers, but electronics seem to dominate...  Skill and honor dominate the pump game.

17 October 04:  Adding pictures and more!  Check photos and the tournaments/events page.  If you want to see pictures of cool custom markers or where to get custom work done, email me (SpinDoctor1515@hotmail.com) or check the links page, I'll have a bunch of good custom shops listed.  Thanks to Jay Fullmer for the additions to the scenario writeups!

23 August 04:  Summer is over, I'm in Los Angeles, and soon the club will be a thing of the past for me!  I'll update the page with pictures and info from California fields now.  Check back often!

17 April 04:  The first USAFA tournament is going to be held here at the Air Force Academy on Saturday, May 1st, 2004.  We recently purchased over $3600 in club equipment, to include 20 Spyder Extra's, 20 compressed air tanks, 20 new masks, ref jerseys and masks, a fill station, etc.  We are only charging $5 per player and $40/case to play.  It's dirt cheap and we're giving back all the money in prizes.  A real sweet deal for everyone involved!

12 Feb 04:   The USAFA tournament team almost made it to Vegas.  We had our end of the details worked out (the hardest part) and it got cancelled due to lack of participation...  Tough luck.  Well, I finally picked up an AGD Sydarm, pictures in the photo section, check it out!  The team will be practicing on Feb 22nd on the Academy Inflate-A-Bunker system.  Pictures forthcoming!

3 Jan 04:  Well... it's been quite some time since I've updated!  When I return from Winter Break, new pictures, new stories, and even a comment form will be added.  Please check back often.

7 Aug 03:  The field has been staked out and the extra poles we needed are going to be donated!  I need to go mow the field we are using and take some pics with a digital camera.  Once I'm done, I'll post them in the pictures section!

5 Aug 03:  Our Inflate-A-Bunker system is here!  We are only missing the blower units due to a manufacturer problem, they had a fire in their factory.  New pics are up of my newly anodized GZ Intimidator.  Also, added a Tournament page, since I referenced it in my photos section.  Please check out the site, it is updated frequently.

25 Jun 03:  The USAFA Paintball Club has received the treated-lumber poles for our field and will be constructing it in the next week or two.  Also, we have ordered the Inflate-A-Bunker system from Splatmasters, LLC in Colorado Springs, CO.  More info and pictures to follow.
