Investigation Terms and Conditions

 

ALL of the following terms and conditions MUST be read and agreed to before you join 'The Society of Paranormal Investigation' on an investigation.


Participants must be 18 or over


Participants are advised to bring along plenty of warm clothing, especially in outdoor locations or in Autumn/Winter months. 


 

Participants are advised to bring along snacks/drinks to keep them going throughout the night. However, SPI will provide refreshments on investigations, wherever possible.

 

 


You must always be respectful of the public, the location, other members and equipment during any SPI event.

The SPI regret that they cannot be held responsible for any loss of/or damage to your personal property whilst on an investigation, or at any other time. Please take care of your belongings. 

For your own safety, Darren (co/manager) is to  use the Ouija board on any investigation.

No smoking is allowed indoors unless the owners advise us of smoking areas within the building which may be used. SPI will advise participants at the outset of investigations of any designated smoking areas.

You must understand that we will be on private property and due consideration should be given so that there is no damage to the property or to any items contained therein.  If through accident or neglect on your part you do cause damage you will repay the organization in full for the cost of repairing it.

We cannot guarantee that paranormal activity will occur on any investigations, you should be mindful of this when attending any investigation.

If you publish any photographs, video footage or information you personally obtain during investigations (either in print or on the internet) you may NOT use the SPI name unless you have permission from Management.

You must NOT issue any statements to the media concerning any case without permission from Management.

During an investigation, mobile phones should always be switched to ‘silent’ mode.

You are prohibited from carrying out or advocating any type of hoax during an investigation, whether it be for the purposes of a test or a joke. Any participants who engage in such behaviour on an investigation will be asked to leave.  

 



For your own safety, we ask that vigils be conducted with at least two people present.


If the planned investigation is unable to proceed, we will notify all participants as soon as we are able to do so and monies will be returned. 


You may cancel your booking at any time – however, refunds will only be given up to 7 days before the planned investigation you have booked for takes place. No refunds if less than seven days notice is given.Where a deposit is required, it will not be refunded if you cancel your booking.


 

Any participants found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during any investigation,will be asked to leave the investigation.Alcohol is not permitted on any investigation.


You are responsible for the health and safety of yourself and others around you. The SPI will not be held responsible for any injuries you may have whilst on an investigation. You attend investigations at your own risk. 


By agreeing to these terms and conditions you further indemnify the organizers/promoters from and against all legal liability in respect of any costs, claims, damages, demands, penalties, actions, proceedings, suits, losses or expenses in respect of or arising out of the injury to or the death of any person, or damage to any property arising from my participation in the activity. 


You will always interview witnesses in a professional and sympathetic manner whilst conducting private investigations run by the SPI.


We ask that participants keep a log throughout the night of experiments undertaken, anything felt/seen/heard or sensed. A member of each group should record all information on the SPI Vigil sheets which will be collected in at the end of the investigation. The information will be used to formulate a report of the investigation and the report will be made available on the website. 


You must agree that you cannot and will not hold the SPI responsible for physical or psychological trauma caused to oneself or others.


You must abide by the SPI rules and follow instructions given by Management on location.

 

 


 

Unless specified by SPI, there will NOT be rooms/beds available for participants to sleep during the night. However, if you wish to rest you can bring along sleeping bags, etc. ..but please be aware that other participants will still be conducting vigils around you. We would advise that you book an overnight stay at a nearby hotel or arrange transport home as tiredness can affect your ability to drive after an investigation. SPI will not be held responsible for any accidents which occur after the event.


 

By signing and returning your booking form and payment, you are agreeing to the above terms and conditions.


The SPI reserve the right to change, add to or amend these terms and conditions at any time.
