Artwork is personal.. It was to the artist that created the art and it should make some kind of connection to the owner (you). It may bring back a fond memory, soothe your mind, touch your heart or there could be something about the work that you feel like you must have it. Even if it is for that place that is in need, of the color it will add, to finish off a decorating scheme. If you like it should you buy it? Yes, as long as you do not regret it later or it will ruin the fun and you will not trust yourself later. How will you know if the work is good? Flow, form and focal point… These are the basics that all well rendered art forms have in common. If you look at it and there seems to be something that doesn't feel right, that is usually because one of these basics were missed. Even artwork you may not like if these basics are in place the work is technically correct.. A unit within it's self. Have you ever wondered why something you like was far less expensive than another you didn't think was as good? Once an artist acquires a high caliber of skill, the remaining factor for price is how well known the artist has become and the demand for that artist's work increases along with the prices. |
