Welcome to Special Olympics Philadelphia! Thank you for taking the time to enroll someone you care about in Special Olympics.
Special Olympics is a year-round sports training and competition program designed for persons who with intellectual disabilities, ages 8 and over, to improve fitness, meet new people, learn sports skills and experience the joy of winning through sports.
Enclosed in this Athlete Enrollment Kit is all the information and forms you need to register your athlete. It is a very easy process; simply complete the enclosed Medical/Parent Release form parts I, II III and IV, please see sample copy enclosed. This form must also be signed at the bottom by a MD or DO for the medical to be valid. Once your forms are completed please return them to the address listed below. You will soon hear from someone in our office, and your athlete will be able to begin Special Olympics training.
Through Special Olympics, athletes experience the joy, sharing, courage, skill and friendship with their family, other athletes and their community. They gain self-esteem, confidence and discipline, which can carry over, into work, school and the home.
