Frisk
There was an old man that went to a vet one day. He had an old box tied up with thin rope for a carrier. (He couldn't afford a real one.) He untied the strings and picked up a weak little cat. The man looked worried. The man told a vetrinarian the cat's name was Frisk.
He finally asked, "Do you have any idea what could have happened to my cat?"
The Vetrinarian replied,"Well, I don't think so. Let me look at him." He looked at the little cat and finally figured out that there was nothing wrong with him. No breathing problems, diabeties, or anything at all. The Vetrinarian told the old man there was nothing wrong, but gave the cat a shot to see if it would work. He told the old man to come in the next day, to see the progress of the cat.
The old man came in the next day holding the same cat box, but with a smile on his face. He went in the back room and opened the box. Out jumped a fully healthy cat. The Vetrinarian was astonished. The old man left happily.
The next day, the old man came back with a worried look on his face again. He opened the box again and there was another weak, little cat. The Vetrinarian and the old man were amazed. Why was he just fine yesterday, and now weak today? The Vetrinarian tried the same shot again and told the old man to come back the next day for further details.
The old man came in again the cat jumped out of the box healthy as before. Why was this happening?
The old man and the cat came back everyday with the same results as before. One day healthy, the next very weak. About a week after the old man's first visit, another man came in with Frisk instead. The man told the vetrinarian that the old man was very ill.
So, later that day, the vetrianarian came to visit the old man and see how he was feeling. The vetrinarian went into the old man's bedroom and found a cup and saucer spilled over the end-table beside the bed. It was nearly empty. The vetrinarian had an idea. He asked the old man how long he had been using that medicine in the cup & saucer.
The old man replied, "About a week." The vetrinarian then asked if he would leave the cup & saucer out all night. The old man said yes. The outcome came to be, that the cat would drink some of the leftover medicine and be sick. That is why there was sudden change in the outcome of the shot.
The vetrinarian was about to leave when he heard that the old man was dying. The Vetrinarian watched the old man die. The old man loved that cat so much. The weird thing is that the old man's last words were "Frisk...Frisk...Frisk."
