So I haven't had an entry in quite a few months, really since we moved. Things have gotten pretty crazy though....we moved in, got married in June, our basement is almost completed and my wife is pregnant! Life has been good and crazy the last six, eight months!!!
Collecting TTM and in general has been slowed since the spring, but a couple of things have really pumped up my collection the last few months. In August, I went to the Sox picnic and added about 50 signatures to my colle...Read Full Post »

Just got back my two Julio Cruz 1987 Topps cards from a signing with Chris Potter Sports which completed my 1987 Topps Sox team set, which makes me pretty happy. The 87 Topps set was pretty much the first set I started to collect when I was a kid, so that's pretty cool... I'm not a huge fan of it though, and I think completing the traded set is going to be a pain!
I've picked up several cards for my projects, including a few for the 05 Topps World Series set. The pics are on the wa...Read Full Post »

Within the last week I picked up the last card I needed to complete the 1965 Topps set, a 65T Horlen LL card. I'm pretty excited because that set is one of my most favorite Topps designs ever! The set has:
- 3 HOFer's (Lopez, Wilhelm and DeBusschere [basketball HOF])
- 5 deceased players/mgr. (Lopez, Wilhelm, Burgess, DeBusschere and Buzhardt)
- 4 multi-signed cards (Peters/Horlen LL, Howard/Staehle RC, Berry/Gibson RC and Bollo/Locker RC)
It ...Read Full Post »

The last few weeks brought several vintage signed cards into my collection, including 63T Al Lopez and Charley Smith cards, and one of my favorite, and hardest to track down, 64T Fritz Ackley. I just need to get Don Buford to complete the card!
I also knocked four off of my "Since '59" list, Smith, Brian J. Giles, Mark Ryal and Juan Pierre signed 01 EX...down to 46 left!!!
There is a 65T Horlen LL card on eBay this week and I hope to win that one, as I wo...Read Full Post »

Thanks to "deano" on SCN, I was able to get two Royce Clayton Topps cards done via St. Louis Sports Collector's public signing, which I really appreciated. Plus I received a 2003 Edwin Jackson minor league card courtesy of "michaeland" on SCN. Thanks guys for the help!

The last few days brought some nice 1961 Topps cards into the collection. All in all, five deceased players (Early Wynn, Cam Carreon, Earl Torgeson, Al Smith and Bill Goodman) and a Luis Aparicio. I really wanted the Aparicio AS card, but that balloned up and went out of my league! I was pretty happy with the six I won though...
I also picked up a nice 87T Jerry Hairston and 73T Jorge Orta, and with the help of my buddy Mike, finally finished my 69T Sox Rookie Stars card wi...Read Full Post »

The last few days brought a few very cool things into my collection. The first is a 1980 Topps Francisco Barrios that helped me complete the 1980 team set. It's one of the few 1980T signed Barrios cards that I have seen, and by far the nicest IMO (there's a pic of it in the pics section). Mickey at Mickey's Clubhouse hooked me up with that one... So with 1980 Topps now complete, that's like 3 out of 52 Topps team sets...still a very long way to go!
The next is one of my fav...Read Full Post »

Earlier this week I received seven cards back from a Cardboard Promotions signing with Wilbur Wood. Except for the league leaders cards, they all had some very cool inscriptions and I was very happy with the signing! All my Topps Wilbur Wood cards are now completed... Pictures of the cards and cool inscriptions are posted in the pics section.
Added some nice ones to go along with those, like 1989 Topps Manrique, 1971 Topps Kelly and several nice index cards for some players...Read Full Post »

This week brought the completion of my second Topps Sox team set, the 1979 edition. I'm pretty stoked about it. A through the mail return from Ross Baumgarten completed the set. A few toughies in the set were Francisco Barrios, Pablo Torrealba and the Prospect card with Mike Colbern on it... Overall it was probably an easy set to put together, but I'm pretty happy about it...
This week also brought one of the best finds I have came across. I have been dearching for a Fritz ...Read Full Post »

Over the last few days I have gotten some TTM requests back, with two awesome one recently...
The first is a Ken Berry/Joel Gibson signed 65T rookie card. Both are great signed, although M. Gibson was hard to track own. Thanks to some great help from a SCN member, I was able to complete the card. I wasn't sure I was going to get this one done! Also, my favorite inscription ever has to be the Marc Hill "1983 AL Champs." I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake or a joke...Read Full Post »
