Many still don't believe that you have to be Baptized in order to be Saved, but the Lord Jesus Christ tells us quite plainly that in order to be Saved we MUST be Baptized.
Jesus says: (Mark 16:16) He that believeth and is Baptized shall be Saved he that believeth not shall be damned.
Jesus says: (John 3:5) Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.
Jesus says that we "must Believe on him", if we do not Believe what he tells us then we do not Believe on him, therefore we are condemned.
Jesus says: (John 3:18) He that Believeth on him is not condemned: but he that Believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not Believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jesus is the Ultimate Authority on how to obtain Salvation, because he was the one that died on the cross for our sins. So if Jesus tells us that we MUST be Baptized in order to be Saved then that is what we MUST do.
The Apostle Peter also said that Baptism Saves.
Peter says: (I Peter 3:18-21) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also NOW save us.
The Apostle Paul says: (Galatians 3:27) For as many of you as have been Baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Paul tells us that through Baptism we are forgiven of all of our trespasses.
Paul says: (Colossians 2:11-13) In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
So according to the Bible we cannot be forgiven our trespasses unless we are Baptized, nor can we "Put on Christ" unless we are Baptized, nor can we be Saved unless we are Baptized.
