Genesis 1:26-31

God Created Humankind

A few weeks ago I made an observance in a posting of mine. I asked this question. Did you know that “lettuce” was found in the bible?

I posted this verse, Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

I posted that this was a pretty lame twist of words here but at the same time it tells me something that is very important for each of us to remember.

At first glance the phrase “let us” tells us that there was more than one person there at the time of creation, right?

So who were these beings that were there at creation?

We all know that God was there don’t we?

So who else was there?

According to John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

So who was the word?

John 1:16 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This person was none other than Jesus Christ.

How many of us have ever realized that there was a third person present at the time of creation?

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

This tells me that the Holy Spirit was also there.

Now “let us” look a little farther into “let us.”

When God made “Adam” he said this, Genesis 2:18  And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.

This tells me that man should have a woman beside him so as that they will not be alone. I do not think that anyone should be alone wither they be male or female but marriage is not for everyone. For these God has made friends.

Now my wife tells me and everyone else that will listen that I am worse than any woman she has ever seen about talking with someone and she is right I do talk with any one that wants to talk. I am a firm believer that God places people in the right place at the right time and there has been plenty of times I have to say a quick and simple prayer that goes like this, Lord HEEEEELLLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!! And you know what, He helps me. He has things come to my mind that I know has to be from him, ‘cause I ain’t that good. I’m just a country boy trying to serve the Lord the best way I know how and I know that I fail him a many a time but he forgives me because he loves me. HE is my friend; I can not go this walk on my own.

There has been some guys that some have thought they were tough and have said “Only a weakling needs a God”.

Psalms 53:1 b: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Pro 10:8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

Pro 10:10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

Prating: Speak (about unimportant matters) rapidly and incessantly

Synonyms are blabbering, blabbing, chattering, clacking, gabbling, gibbering, need I go farther?

Can you see that God does not think much of the ones who have the gall to tell others that there is no God?

I am a firm believer that if God doesn’t like it, we shouldn’t either.

I can’t understand how people go all through life without Christ in their heart.

The emptiness they must fill, the longing they have for they know not what.

What a friend we have in Jesus.

He fills my ever longing.

He takes care of all my needs.

Is he your friend?

If he is not, you are his enemies.

There is no such thing as fence sitting; you are either for him or against him.

Would you make a choice for him today?
