Nanette Orange resides in United States, surrounded by a loving family.
At an early age of nine, she was introduced to the works of Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, and Gwendolyn Brooks. Inspired by their literary crafts, she began writing poetry, landing a few poems in high school anthologies.
After high school, she focused on helping others. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology and held positions as a mental health technician, high school truant counselor and financial aid advisor. In these positions, she gained a keen understanding of human behavior.
In 2004, Nanette's passion for poetry returned. From 2004 to 2006, she wrote over 150 poems, embracing themes of family sanctity, romance, self-awareness/self-improvement, and nature divinity. Readers of Nanette’s work have labeled her poetic voice as one of tranquility, yet profound (click here to view readers' comments).
Believing the general public will benefit from her wisdom-filled poetry, fellow poets encouraged Nanette to publish her poetry collection. Subsequently, she compiled ninety poetic pieces, and Soul Whisperings: Poems for Victorious Living later emerged.
Her work appears in several literary and e-zine magazines, including Poet Express, Scorched Earth Publishing and Westward Quarterly. She is also a contributing author to anthologies, Natural Spirit, Pawsitively and The Innocence of Children (to be released in June 2008).
