First got into the Northern Scene in 1982, just before i joined the mob. First event i went to was the Fleet at Fletton. There was a mod / Northern rally on there. we had travelled up from Daventry. This was my first taste of the music that would pick me up by the scruff of the neck and immerse me 100% in its way. All other music i had ever heard or was going to hear became insignificant and boring.
Once i joined the mob i wained from the scene a small amount and concentrated on the job at hand. However when i was stationed at Hameln with 35 Engr Regt we did hold a few Northern nights in the gymnasium to raise funds for SSAFA. Came out the mob and got married. Marriage didnt work and i became a statistic. Got back into the scen soon after this (97ish) went to local events Embankment and Ritz etc... and afew others further afield. decided to set The Cream Cracker Soul Club up in August 2004 as wanted to hold an oldies (predominantley) night 3 times (March, May and August) a year and hopefully have the punters go home Cream Crackered. Was asked to hold a do between August and March, so decided (with idea from John McDade) to hold an event at Xmas time and call it The Christmas Cream Cracker where i cover all the costs and give ALL monies taken to charity. The people who attended raised £850.00 for Accorn Childrens Hospice last year and £900 for Leicester animal aid this year.
I live at home with my leveller Karen, and our golden retriever Hollie.
I run my own business and have done for 12 years. Whoever said being your own boss was better than working for someone else obviously hadnt done it.
My favourite quote is "Let China sleep for when she awakes the world will tremble" Napoleon Banaparte.
Rules i live by are, Manners maketh man, be respectful to people who deserve it and no matter what happens always laugh about it afterwards (if you can).
