Round 13
ABC: Sonny Bill it must have been a fairly dominant performance from the Bulldogs in the second half?
SONNY: Yes it was. All the forwards led the way, they played tough footy and we got over their forward pack I thought and we just followed them.
ABC: Newcastle jumped out to an early lead but good play from your side to get back into the game at the half-time break.
SONNY: Yeah it was. A couple of things didn't go our way and we just stuck tight and all the boys said that our defence was pretty good, we were whacking them so we just stuck to our game plan and at the end, the last 20 minutes paid off for us.
ABC: Your own performance tonight though, you must have been pleased with that?
SONNY: Yeah it was good. I'm slowly getting back into it.
MASON: Yeah we've copped a fair bit of critisim from a couple of Newcastle papers but it was a great effort tonight we really muscled up so it was good.
ABC: Forwards really aimed up for your team tonight?
MASON: Yeah for sure. Mark O/Meley, Roy, Sonny Bill, we've got two lock-forwards in the centres so it helps alot so things are looking good.
ABC: Was Sonny Bill given a roving position tonight, He seemed to be everywhere on the field?
MASON: Yeah for sure, I think he is sick of playing in the centres but with Willie Tonga getting injured, that's the way it goes but i'm sure in a couple of weeks he'll move into the forwards so he can pretty much do what he wants.
ABC: Some words on Hazems' performance tonight, breaking Terry Lambs record.
MASON: Yeah mate it was outstanding, he deserves it. He is a great bloke and he does a fair bit off the field and on the field so he deserves everything he gets.
ABC: Just finally the Bulldogs performance tonight, are you starting to feel that the team is really starting to gel?
MASON: Yeah for sure. It's a shame that we had to cop a bit of criticisim to muscle up so hopefully we can just get our heads together and just play some consistent footy.
ABC: Well done Williethanks for talking to Grandstand Rugby League.
