The Actor

When people talk about Johnny Cash, they mostly talk about his singing and songwriting abilities. What many people don't know is, that he is also a great actor. One of the most popular movies is "A Gunfight". The man who played Johnny's rival in this movie was no less a man than Kirk Douglas, the father of Michael Douglas.

But this is not the only movie in which he delighted our hearts with his appearance. He also starred in movies like "Gospel Road", "Ridin' The Rails", "Stagecoach" and many others. He appeared in television series such as "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman", as a guest star in "The Muppet Show" and he even had his own TV-Show, "The Johnny Cash Show", running from 1969 to 1971.

And of course, he appeared in a lot of music videos, for example "Chicken In Black", "Highwayman" and his latest one, "Hurt", which is really overwhelming. Nowadays, you can also find a wide range of his concerts on video and DVD. But even those fans who still not have a DVD-player, have a really good chance to see the Man in Black on TV, because nearly every year they re-run the "Columbo" - Episode "A Swan Song", where Johnny played the Country-Singer Tommy Brown, who wanted to get rid of his wife, who was played by Ida Lupino. Columbo himself was played by Peter Falk.
