A Secret Place

You're having such a good time playing in the deep water that you don't notice the current carrying you away. Before too long You look around to try and find some way you can out splash Splash and you notice that you're no longer at the beach where you'd first found Tantrum. You were at a cove instead, and everyone was grinning. This must be where the Jinxes have their young.

Everyone stills as you notice your surroundings and Squiggle gives a slight grimace and a fearful click, immediantly bringing Tantrum to her side. She shudders, then sinks down, and you all gather close to see what happens. Several minutes pass and you flounder in the deep water, worried about you new friend. More minutes pass and then a large pocket of air streams to the surface, quickly followed by the smallest Jinxes you've ever seen. They're adorable, and instantly catch your heart as their mother follows after them, guiding them to the air they need and slightly supported herself by Tantrum. You let out a breath you weren't aware of holding and hug all of them as Squiggle proudly introduces her new young ones.

"This is Ripple," she says, her soft voice quiet with love as she nudges the blue one. "And this is Shimmer," she adds, nuzzling his sister.

"They're beautiful," you breathe, gently touching both of them, your eyes wide with the wonder of it all. There's great happiness at the new little ones, and then everyone settles down to how it was before, each of you loving on the little babies and waiting for the next pair that's sure to come.

You don't have to wait long before the same thing happens with Daisy. When it's time for them to come up again you see waht you think is splashes of sun in the waters, only to find that they're to two you've been waiting for. They're adorable, and Ripple and Shimmer greet them warmly as fellow yongsters.

"Sunset," Tantrum declairs proudly as he nuzzles the orange one. "And Sunrise," he adds, turning to the pink. You think they're wonderfully adorable but now that they've come into this new world they need to see it. It's time for them to explore their new home with their parents. You love how close everyone is with so many new arrivals and you forget yourself as you swim in the middle of the pod when you head back into the deeper waters. The twins are all perfect in your oppinion and you simply want to play with them while they see thier new home. Laughing, you race ahead and dare them to catch you. You were headed back.
