Introduction:

The American Christian Music Association also known as "The A.C.M.A." is a fellowship of Singers/Songwriter's/Musicians and Recording Artists who have felt the call to spread God's love through music! Just 10 years ago it was the vision of Troy Cupp (Then President of the association) to bring a group of people together that shared his vision to bring gospel artists and ministries to Central Kentucky for the purpose of evangelism. Since then the A.C.M.A. has grown by leaps and bounds. They have chapters as far away as Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and Ohio. I'm telling you these folks are on fire for the Lord!

There are many benefits to being an A.C.M.A. member. As a member you recieve a membership card that will get you into any event sponsored by "The A.C.M.A." including any of the monthly meetings. The privilage to vote at our annual elections, and nominations for soloist, duet, trio, and group of the year. (There is also categories for song of the year, Gospel Radio Station, Gospel TV. and DJ. of year awards) A bi-monthly newsletter, and your group or ministry listed on their website (along with your ministries schedule). Also a chance to sing center stage at the annual A.C.M.A. "Singing Convention"

I am now the Chairman for the association, and I can tell you first hand that these people love the Lord. They will do everything that they possibly can to assist you in the ministry. I've seen them spend their last dime to put gas in someones car to get to a singing or some other A.C.M.A. event! We also have Pastors, and preachers in the association that will pray for you anytime, anywhere. I have found that I am accepted in the beloved when I am around these folks who we call our friends in the gospel.

Jim  was perfectly satisified  to  stay within  the walls of  his church being  the song leader and  singing an  occasional  special  during  the service. Then  one Sunday evening  while  singing  a special,   the words of  the  song  tugged  at  his  heart to step  out  beyond the walls of his church. Well,  the rest is history. That is when God called him to  "Step into the waters,  step out a little bit deeper". Jim  is an  an  advisory  board  member  to  The Salvation Army Middlesboro Kentucky,  as well as being on  the  Army's  list   of  approved  evangelist,   southern territory. He is the  ACMA  Bell county Chapter leader  as  well  as  the elected  2003, 04, 05 and  06  president of   the  American  Christian  Music  Association. He is the associate  pastor  of   Faith  Word   Ministries, Middlesboro Kentucky. He is currently pastoring a small mountain  side church,   First  Southern  Baptist  Church of  Chenoa KY. He has ministered in song and word from Michigan to Florida, and as far west as   Los Angeles,California where he ministered with Dwight Thompson Ministries going into the Los Angeles projects   with Operation Stitches. While in Los Angeles Jim  preached in a  Spanish speaking church through an interpreter. This was a first for Jim. He has performed on several Gospel Cruises.
