It's all too easy to write this up, get a page up and running and hope to boost sales and forget that the One who is really behind it all is the One who gave me the story and can give you a brand new story, or at least fix the ending for you.
Yeah, I'm talking about God. Seem strange? It shouldn't. God's Word says that we were in God's mind before He formed the heavens and the earth. Now that's something to think about. Think of the love it took to step down from the throne of Heaven, put on the skin of man, just so He could die for you and take away your sin. That's what the story of Jesus is all about. If you don't believe that then you have a real problem. Most people feel like they're drowning in a sea of temptations, lusts, desires, and just can't get out. They struggle to swim to shore for safety, only to find they've gone to the wrong shore. The Greeks had a great analogy here. The River Styx separated the living from the dead. The only difference is that we are IN that river now. If we try to swim ashore under our own power we end up in Hades, the place where the souls of the dead remain in eternal unrest. Yet, if we let Jesus take our place, as He already has on the cross, then He lifts us up out of that river and puts us in His River of Life. We don't feel like we are drowning anymore, but rather that we are surrounded by a love that is far greater than human comprehension. Some people are of the opinion you have to die to get there. Sorry, in Ephesians the 2nd chapter it says we're there already, in Christ.
You see, when I wrote THE 3RD COVENANT, it was more than just being able to accomplish some grand task. It wasn't just writing a novel. It was using the talents God has given me to reach out and draw people to Him. Why? Because I love you too. That's right. How could I do any less than love those whom my Lord has given His life to redeem, to buy back to Himself. If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior you can change that right now. You can call out to Him and tell Him you believe that He is who He says He is. That you believe that He came to die for your sins. Tell Him you have come to accept that great offer of love, mercy and grace, and ask Him to reign as King of your life. It doesn't matter what you've done, where you have come from or anything. All that matters is that you mean from your heart that you want what God has prepared for you before the foundations of the world. How wonderful that is. Then, after you have done that, find someone and tell them. Preferably find another Christian who can rejoice with you, find a Bible for you so you can have your own conversations with God. You'll see that He will change you from the inside out. Forget this junk about churches trying to change the outside and then make believe the inside is good enough. It never will be until we accept God's wonderful gift of grace. Oh yeah, did I tell you Jesus not only died, but rose back to life and is coming again soon? Of all the religions (of which Christianity really isn't because it's a family relationship between child and Father) only Christianity has a Savior who isn't dead. He's alive, and in Him we can also be alive forever. What a blast.
