Introduction

This is where you will always find the latest version of Sokofan, my own home-made Sokoban clone.

Sokoban is a puzzle game invented by Hiroyuki Imabayashi from Thinking Rabbit in the 1980's. The objective is to push objects (originally represented by boxes or crates) from behind to some locations called goals (or targets) in a maze bounded by walls. The beauty of the game lies in the endless variety and difficulty in achieving this.

Beware! This game is addictive!

Latest version: v2.5

Thanks to Gerry Wiseman for his nice skin pack (check the skins section)! Please use the latest version 2.5 as there is an intermittent (but nasty) bug when using some of his skins with animation images.

Also added xp manifest.

Download here: setupsokofan25.exe (636 kb)

As usual you don't have to uninstall previous versions, simply install over the old one. Also check Juan's site at

v2.2 and v2.2b

Version 2.2b is a minor version which corrects a bug in v2.2 when you can't reverse-play with the new 3D skins.

Version 2.2 fixed a bug in 2.1 which does not properly clear the list of hits when a search is restarted immediately after a previous one and the dialog has not been closed at least once.

There is also a fix for the pathfinding (man moves) when it does not minimize changes in direction in some cases. Note that for pushing sessions, changes in direction of box path is minimized and not the man path.

Some changes were made on special requests by users. You may need to change settings manually though. (I apologise for the lack an options dialog.)

For those who like pretty skins, v2.2 now supports false 3D skins (like Sokoban++). A very good pack by the81x is available for download in the skins section.
