NB: DO NOT USE SAWDUST OR SHAVINGS IN YOUR CAGE.
This will aggravate your rats chest. Rather use white (not newspaper) paper, carpeting, material etc

This is my cage, based on the stunning "Grotto" from the Dapper Rat website (well worth going to look at folks, look in our links section)

EXCITING NEWS - 21 May 2007:

A new import into SA is the paper pelleted bedding. This makes an ideal base for the cage for your rats to run on. Ontop of this I recommend using shredded paper for your rats to nest with. Its inexpensive and non dusty. I went so far as to purchase my own small shredder from Makro. We have ample throw away paper in our office and at R250 for the shredder, my rats will be kept in nesting forever.
