Hello, and welcome to our website. The Society Against Neutering (SAN) is a pressure group which was formed on the 10th of October 2003 in order to raise awareness of alternatives to spaying and castrating animals, as there are more humane methods of achieving the aims of neutering. We are also opposed to the Dangerous Dog Act on the grounds that it is overly harsh and out of touch with why dogs attack people. Our ultimate aim is for the government to bring in a complete ban on animal neutering unless the animal's life is at risk from a disease which can't be treated without surgery, or if the animal will be in considerable pain unless the operation is carried out. If you agree with our aims, please sign the internet petitions, which can be accessed from this page (a couple fo the petitions are concerned with ending factory farming and bringing in an eye for eye punishment for animal cruelty). If you feel as though banning neutering is a bit extreme, we also have a petition which aims to make vasectomies and tubal ligations more widely available for animal companions. Also, if you have a minute, please take part in the polls on http://www.misterpoll.com/2836626904.html and http://www.misterpoll.com/2957230912.html.
