Smoky's Harbor Rabbitry

About Me

My beautiful Ely (RIP) and I after winning BIS at a 4-H show.

My name is Whitney and I'm 20 years old. I graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 2005 and I went to Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York in 2005-2006. My major was Laboratory Science Technology. Science is one of my passions - the same goes for animals. I've loved animals my entire life and I've had all kinds of pets, from frogs to rodents to dogs. I got my first pair of rabbits in the 8th grade as a graduation gift, one was a Netherland Dwarf and one was a Dwarf Hotot. Ever since, I've started slowly to climb the ladder of becoming a rabbit breeder. I joined 4-H in my junior year of high school and I got my first show quality Dutch rabbit from the pet store then learned more about rabbit breeding from 4-H. I am currently in my 3rd year of 4-H and did very well at the Pierce County fair. I won my second Best In Show with a beautiful Tan buck that I had, Ely. Unfortunately he died just before the Puyallup State fair. I'm too old to show in 4-H but I'm still involved. I'm a rabbit project leader and I usually help out with shows and/or fundraisers.

I'm taking up boxing, I'm in the welterweight class. I plan to go far with boxing. Within a year or two, I will sell out of rabbits and relocate to California for school and boxing.

At RIT, I was involved in several different organizations. I was involved in 3 clubs: NTID Spectrum, RIT GA, and the Equestrian team. I was also involved in one play during the winter quarter, "The Crucible."
