SmilinJack Racing

Welcome, Fans!

       The 2009 Season is coming.  Smilin' Jack will be moving up into stock cars.  He will be racing a number 34 Pure Stock.  He will still have the anderson chassis to race the karts every now and then.  His nephew will be making his racing debut in the kart as well.  You may be asking " Why is Smilin' Jack moving out of karts?"  well the answer to that is he wants to go faster.    Pictures will hopefully be added.  from the kart racing career and the pure stock renovation.   We have been having some difficulties with photos.   Please check back often as we make changes.

Sorry Fans, I will not be racing on opener due to other commitments.  For the past month i was very ill and needed to be at work when i wasn't sick.  Hopefully i can be out on the track by mid June.  I have all the parts except the tubing for the roll cage.  My plan is to beef up the roll cage on the right side a little bit. It is pretty weak there. Then change some suspension parts and clean everything up.  Johns Body Shop is still painting the car for me. Sorry about this set back. I also need to do some work on my garage.  I bought a car too fast to make changes in my garage.  Live and Learn.  Moving up into the stock car is a big change for me.  I am still learning about the setups as they are totally different than the go-karts. The new racing season is approaching very quickly.  I have been working on the car every chance I get.  I will be having John's Body Shop paint the car for me after I get the car put back together.  Within the next week I will be visiting a junkyard to find some parts.  Hopefully I will have the car off the jacks and out of the garage in a few weeks. Then I will be "beefing" up the roll cage just a little bit. 

I have a schedule planned out already, just have to confirm it with the rest of the crew and I will post it.  I just have to thank everyone that has helped me out so far.  I really appreciate it.  Thanks

In early January i finished taking all of the decals off of the car.  I finished taking the left side off too.  Basically what i am doing is taking all the body panels off to reshape them. As well as patching a few holes in the right side door and front fender.  Then in the next week or so i am planning to be putting all the pannels back on after they are straight again.  Then i will sand it down, and get all of the putty off.  I will place some new putty on to give her the smooth texture and get her ready for paint. 

For the cab. i will be getting new seat belts.  I am going to be putting a floor shifter in the car.  Mainly because the shifter at the steering column will not lock in place. 

I will also be doing a lot of cleaning on one of the warmer days i am hoping for.

This Just In,  Smilin Jack has bought a spare car.  It does not have a role cage in it yet but hopefully it will soon.  It is a 1988 Cutlass classic supreme.  No Engine, Just a basic roller.    The only thing we don't need on the car is the T- Top.  Pics will come as soon as the snow melts.  Don't hold your breath.

Hi folks,  I recently made a model car of what i would like the stock car to look like.  I gave it out to my grandfather as a christmas gift.  He really liked it. 

Smilin' Jack Will be racing the number 34 Pure Stock for the 09 season.  He will also be racing karts but he has decided to make the move up to stock cars.  The number 34 Pure Stock is a 1979 cutlass with an 83 body on it.  We will be working very hard on the car this winter to make it look like Smilin' Jack.  This is a good learning experience for Smilin' Jack.  Please check back as we will put photos on the Pure Stock project on the web.  Thanks
