                                                                                          TEN YEARS

I would like to thank the Soldiers that have stayed with this team through thick and thin.  I would rather lose games with guys who are TRULY like family to me, than win with a team of strangers.  We have a list of players, LIKE NO OTHER in this league, with 10 YEARS of consistency and showing up EVERY SUNDAY!  You know who you are, thanks for being a TRUE SOLDIER!  Afterall, the ONLY way to fail, is to stop trying!   I am so proud to be part of this awesome legacy that YOU ALL have created!  THANK YOU!  I will be giving out service awards for those who make it the 10 years.... that will consist of a plaque and a little something special!  I will also have some 10 year shirts and flex fit hats done up to celebrate the SOLDIER DECADE!!  Good Job guys!!                          THE SMALL SOLDIERS

HISTORY:  The Small Soldiers was founded in 1998.  The name comes from the popular, animated movie:  Small Soldiers.  We thought it would be cool for other teams to have to say they got beat by a team with that name.  (plus, our team is mostly under 5'5" and we are SUNDAY SOLDIERS)  Our first season was Spring '98 in a 6 on 6 league, at Fostoria YMCA.  We finished 0-8.   Then we found USFTL in Fall '98.  Our record was 1-9.  Then we played Spring '99 in Tiffin, OH.  Our record was 3-7.  We finally figured out how to pull flags, and play as a team in Fall '99.  Our record was 11-1   We beat The Bombers with a last second play, to send us to the State of Ohio Championship NIT.  Ever since then we have been a very competitive team.  We have been referred to as "mini Ruff Riders" (of Findlay, OH.)  and "farm team" for the La Z Boys (of Toledo, OH.)  But we are......THE SMALL SOLDIERS!!!!

Although The Small Soldiers, as a team, are tightly bonded, there are 5 TRUE Soldiers, who have taken it to another level!  They have created a brotherly bond by branding themselves with the Small Soldier logo.  They have made the decision to be a Small Soldier for LIFE!  With or without a football team.

                                             

                                                

   We added a new Small Soldier Brother W/ the brand of the TAT!   AND now there is SIX!!!    and waiting for more!!

RIVALRIES:  We love playing all teams in Findlay, Fostoria, Tiffin and Toledo.  However, our most exciting games came from playing the Thrashers, Fostoria Bomb Squad and The WB's.  All from FAFFL.
