As you may know, I have not even had Tincker the Guinea Pig 2 weeks yet, but already there is one big problem.
Tincker may have a Mite problem, he is behaving strangly and is itching and scratching. He may have caught this from the Pet shop, as this is what normally happens.
I am very worried because he wont let me pick him up with out a struggle.
You can't see Mites, so I'm taking him down the Vets A.S.A.P where he will get an injection.
This goes to all of you- make sure you pick a healthy Guinea Pig! Its hard to but try and get it down the vet if you notice any problems!
Last Saturday on June 7th, my poor Syrian Hamster died.
I came up to feed her in the morning, and I noticed she was sleeping in a funny position, well I had a shock when I found that she had died. It may have been old age, but the Day before there was nothing wrong with her. It was a very sad time, so thats why I bought Tincker, the new Guinea Pig.
Tincker, the Guinea Pig has settled in well.
I have had him for 6 Days now and already he is starting to get the Hang of the Circle trick!
He is eating well and drinking well. From Day one he was eating out of my Hand, so I know he is friendly. He also loves being groomed and picked up.
Ticker is only about 2-3 months old, which is a point all Guinea Pig owners should pick up on. A Pet shop should be selling young Guinea Pigs that are no younger than 6 weeks old.
Anyway, just dropping a note on his progress : )
