Teach your Small Pets some Tricks. Many people have Pets that can do some of the following, and with the right training you and your Pet can soon get it right!
Guinea Pig Tricks:
The Circle:
After a bit of practice your Guinea Pig should be able to get the hang of it. Remember to be patient with your Guinea Pig.
Step one: (You need to be able to hand feed your Guinea Pig). Take your Guinea Pigs favourite Treat e.g: A Carrot. Then move the Carrot in different directions, making sure the Guinea Pig follows. This may take a bit of time but it soons pays off. Make sure that you don't fill up your Guinea Pig with the chosen treat or else it wont work. When this has been completed, then you can move on to step two.
Step two: Take your Treat and start moving it in a circle, but only in one direction or your Guinea Pig will get confused. Keep repeating this until your Guinea Pig expects the Circle. Then move on to step three.
Step three: Pick a Key Phrase for your Guinea Pig everytime you want it to do a circle. You can say 'Do Circle' or something simular, but to make it clear what you are saying. Don't pick a phrase that it too long, or your Guinea pig will get confused and wont understand. Repeat the Phrase and make sure you say it clearly. Then, when your Guinea Pig can do this, move on to step four.
Step four: This is the hard part that needs alot of practice, but eventually you Guinea Pig will expect he/she will have to do a circle and will be able to do it properly when you say the magic phrase. All you need to go it move the chosen Treat either to the left of the right slightly (depending on which way you have chosen for the Guinea pig to do the circle) and the Guinea Pig will eventually know what to do.
