Welcome
Welcome to Blue Moon Kennels. We raise Small Munsterlanders, frequently called Moonsters. A Blue Moon is something that comes along once in a great while and has personal meaning in our lives. We feel that our dogs represent that quality that comes along "Once in a Blue Moon!" Our dogs are hunted on pheasant, quail and waterfowl. We are members of the Small Munsterlander Club of North America (www.smallmunsterlander.org) and North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (www.NAVHDA.com) and the Oklahoma Chapter of NAVHDA (www.oknavhda.com) and invite you to check out these organizations. Check out the information on our new litter. For other information email me at downey494@aol.com .

Make no mistake, these are working dogs!
Kate had her pups on Sept 30th. She had 4 females 6 males and they are all with their new families now. Blue Moon's Agape, call name Dot, will be having Blue Moon's C litter in fall 2007 (hopefully) Call for more information. For now, I will be hunting with Kate and Dot!
We kept 1 pup out of the 2005 litter and Blue Moon's Agape (call name Dot) earned her NA prize 2 at 5 months 3 weeks. Not to be outdone, her brother Blue Moon's Audie also earned his NA prize 2 (107 points same as mom and grand dad Hans and grandmother Zo!) the same day! As of May 23rd 6 dogs have tested and 6 dogs prized! This qualified the litter for a breeders award. I have posted some photos on my album which can be found by going to www.smallmunsterlander.org, click on forum, then gallery, then on user galleries then on Mike Downey. Let me know if you like what you see!

Above is a photo of Blue (River Hills Babe's Sarah), the best dead bird finding dog I have hunted over!
Below is Kate (Rhodes End's Ally) showing her stuff at an OKNAVHDA training day.
