Ok so the shrug didn't happen, the needles were too long for me to be able to knit comfortably with my back. So I frogged it.
Then I found a pattern called Corona on Ravelry - and I thought well that will be nice to use up some more of the lilac wool. Then I thought sod it, if the world is ending tomorrow (which is didn't) I don't want to die knowing that I hadn't used the Mirasol Miski Baby Llama wool. My flatmate gave me a very strange look when I told him that.
So I cast on, and OMG it is the nicest stuff I have ever used, it flows beatutifully, the subtle changes in the colour way are gorgeous, and I have never in my life felt anything so soft. And the pattern - so far it is knitting up very quickly, although I am still about 16 rounds from the complicated bit!
Love it, love it, love it!
One slight probelm is that this was supposed to be my project to take me through until I have moved house - It's knitting up a bit quick though and may not last me a week let alone 2!
Ok so my biggest concern abou tknitting the sweater dress was that it would be boring - and yes it was, BUT boring was actually quite nice, with the move and everything I've had a lot on my mind so doing inch and inch of sticking stitch has been blissful.
Then last Thursday I threw my back out - there was a horrible 3 hours when i couldn;t knit, then the doctor gave me some fabulous painkillers, and i cracked on. Completed the sweater dress in about 10 days - how brilliant!
So what next I hear you ask?
Well I am going ot work on another really easy shrug today, and work out what knitting I am going to need for the next 2 and a half weeks, so that everything else can be packed up and moved this weekend. Need to either start one of my big projects that will take that long, or just keep some sock yarn out and do a couple of pairs of socks
Don;t ask me how I am going to be moving when the heaviest thing i can lift at the moment is a cup of tea, but we'll get to that, I'm hoping my jedi powers suddenly awaken and I can pack using the power of my mind.
Happy knitting - in theory it is a Stitch n Bitch night tonight, but depending on whether i am able to leave the house later will depend on if it is happening.
Hurrah! Decided to just sit down and do them - I only had 10 rows left, there was nothing stopping me! So they are done, I will take a photo of them tonight and stick them up.
Started the front of the sweater dress, I've actually done the math this time and know how many rows 14 inches of stocking stitch is so is shouldn't seem such an endless task.
Accidentally ordered this yesterday... http://www.woollyworkshop.co.uk/acatalog/Exclusive_Kits.html
I have lots to keep me busy!
