Slinging Ink

Welcome to Slinging Ink website. This is the website for Inkslinger Forums. The website and the forums will provide places for writers to post their writing and have it reviewed. In addition to that, there will be workshops, writing activities, and places for networking. Inkslinger is also a place for artists. Post your graphics, Paint creations, or any other art you have created.

Inkslinger Forums are doing really well. We currently have 51 members and over 1,600 posts. Also, the newspaper has been updated for the month of December. Please come and join us.

Inkslinger Forums announces the very first contest of the forum. We hope that all will get involved in this contest.

When does this contest begin?

The contest begins November 12th and runs through December 12th. Winners will be announced on December 13th. This contest has been extended until January 5th. Winners will be announced January 6th.

What kind of contest will it be?

This contest will be a posting and referral contest. Your posts, your referrals, and your referral's post will count towards you winning.

How will this work?

As you can see, it is a matter of simple math. Your referrals, your referral's posts, and your posts will be added together to determine the winner. So, encourage your referrals to post.

The referrals + the referral's posts + the members post= WINNER

Who can participate?

Anyone can participate as long as he/she has five posts. The only members who cannot participate are Jober68 and Oh Wise One. All other staff are invited.

Any other rules?

Participants must make quality posts. This means no spam to increase your post count.

Referrals must actually post an introduction topic to count, and in their topic, they must say who referred them.

Participants must reply to the announcement that they will participate using the template below.

Participants must edit their post with their referral names.


Prizes:

All prizes will include recognition in the newspaper for the month of January and a special member group.

1st place prizes:

50 post count increase
Custom sig and avatar set
Special sig to wear on Inkslinger identifying you as a contest winner
Access to a special board planning forum to give your input
Redirection to your personal forum/forum of your choice (OR) 50 posts on your personal forum/forum of your choice by an administrator from Inkslinger Forums

2nd place prizes:

25 post count increase
Custom sig or avatar
Special sig to wear on Inkslinger identifying you as a contest winner

Inkslinger and Slinging Ink staff have been so busy, it's been difficult to update. Sorry about this. Hopefully, this will get better.

We have added a music section to the forum for those who love music. Please have fun using these. We have also added a Fun and Games forum. Stay tuned for the next edition of the newspaper for more updates.

Happy Halloween everyone. Unfortunately, there was not enough time to decorate Inkslinger and Slinging Ink for Halloween. However, I hope everyone has a great one and stays safe.

Staff is still needed for Inkslinger and Slinging Ink. We are in need of newspaper staff, editors, critics, and literary agents. Please check the staff page to view this information.

Many updates have been made and many are still to come. A Subscription page has been added so that members can keep up-to-date with both sites. In addition, the first issue of Inkslinger Inquiry has been published and can be found on the Newspaper page. Let us know what you think on the Feedback page. We are currently taking submissions on the Submissions page for the next issue.

Slinging Ink has had some updates during the past few days. A new contact page, titled 'Feedback,' has been added, and the old contact page was taken down. I think this will be a more efficient way of contacting staff. Also, the 'Resources' page has been updated with a Resource for getting published. More resources are coming. Also, members and guests now have the option of submitting information and resources to the website by the 'Submissions' page. Please read all information about submitting.

The forum is ready to launch. I have uploaded emoticons, but I am still waiting on forum markers and a banner. I am very excited about launching the forums and the website. We still need staff so if you are interested, check into that.
