Hello, my name is Dan Gomez (Sensei Gomez).  I am the owner and teacher at Slidell Karate.  I have been studying and practicing karate for over 28 years and have earned a 7th degree black belt along with a teaching license.

                 The style of karate I teach is called Shorin Ryu Matsumura Seito karate and kobudo.  This style originated in Okinawa, Japan.  Karate is the art of the empty hand.  Kobudo is the art of traditional weapons.  The empty hand techniques and weapon techniques compliment each other, and studying both gives the students a well-rounded education in the martial arts.

Teaching karate is what I love to do, and at Slidell Karate I do all the teaching.  Karate is a skill that will last a lifetime.   Our students range in age from 4 years old to over 50 years old.  It's great for all ages and anyone can do it. See you at the dojo!
